About Me

Kia ora. kid90 has hosted/DJed RDU's 100% kiwi-tronica show, The Greenroom (Saturday 5-7pm NZ time, 98.5fm in Chch or streaming via www.rdu.org.nz), for over a year. The show is all about pushing boundaries, stepping outside genre classification and hunting out NZ's freshest, finest underground electronica talent...............kid90 has over 15 years of DJing experience and has played support at a huge range of gigs alongside: Blackalicious, Rockers Hi-Fi, Rhombus, Maitreya, Concord Dawn, Aphrodite, Greg Churchill, Krust & Suv, Grooverider, Doc Marten, DJ Sneak, Armand Van Helden, Bulletproof, Basement Jaxx, Terry Francis, DJ Baku, Doc Scott, and many others. Known mainly as a Breaks/D'n'B DJ, kid90 got his start in Auckland during the mid-90s but has slowed down in the last few years and has been focusing on more downbeat/loungey beats (although I still like to drop some dancefloor chaos once in a while). On a personal note, kid90 recently married a wonderful woman (mixpixie), is the proud father of an awesome little boy and is currently a "House-husband"........ My Interests

Watching my son grow and learn, spending time with my beautiful wife- mixpixie, making and teaching people how to make good coffee, painting (when the mood takes me), and recently, learning how to make music.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone based in NZ that is producing music, knows someone that produces or just likes kiwi music. DJ G 19months

Music:

Any and every artist that has featured on the show, almost every genre ever created and some that haven't been, dub to D'n'B to house to funk to jazz to experimental to rock to indie to emo-dance-core to psy to breaks and everything in between.

Movies:

Anything with a halfway decent story-line, nothing too scary though.

Television:

The Go Show, What Now, anything that keeps my mind numb.

Books:

Turntable Timmy (the coolest kid's book, EVER), Are you my mother?, Going on a Bear Hunt.

Heroes:

Anyone else who has ever been a parent.
