About Me

I guess you could say I wear a lot of hats....writer, photographer, traveler, vocalist/musician, and outdoor guide. I'm from the Midwest originally and found my way serendipitously to Santa Barbara, California. I've lived throughout the American West and on both the Canadian and Mexican borders. My Interests

travel, languages, yoga, singing, dancing, drumming, trekking in the Himalayas and the Andes, reading adventure and travel nonfiction, doing portraits of my girlfriends, long road trips and spontaneous adventures involving at least one bad road food experience, playing music with the boyz in my band (www.kingbeehive.net), and giving slideshows about my adventures traveling.

Television:

I don't have t.v. Put me in front of a t.v. with cable and I'm like an alcoholic at happy hour...I have no control! I try to stay away from it unless I'm watching a favorite series on netflix. (Northern Exposure, 24, Long Way Round)

Books:

Favorite authors are: Isabel Allende, Jon Krakauer, Mark Jenkins, Shakespeare, and Pablo Neruda. One of the best books I've read this year is "Shantaram," by Gregory David Roberts. Favorite mags are Nat Geo Adventure, Traveler, Outside, Oprah, Bon Appetit, and Cooking Light.

Heroes:

Everyday people who make giant sacrifices that go unnoticed on a daily basis.
