I am extraordinary. I am just your ordinary, average, everyday, sane/psycho super-goddess

About Me

Pop in a cassette and push play... About me... always going back to Cali (I don't think so) My name is Kirsty. If you call me "Kristy" I will correct you once, I will correct you twice, but by the third time I'll just run with it and assume you're an idiot who doesn't really want to get to know me. I will be 39 at the end of the year. Wow. Sometimes I feel way too young to call out that number as my age. But when I think of all the things I've done and been through in my life so far, 39 seems about right. There are a zillion regrets I have (and I don't believe anyone who says they have no regrets), but my life is what it is, and I can honestly say I am glad that I experienced things many people haven't but wished they did! I am a hardcore liberal Democrat, I have voted in every election I've been eligible for since I turned 18 (and have NEVER voted for a Republican! Sorry Alex...). If you don't vote, don't bitch about the government. Our current so-called president and his administration should be impeached NOW!!!! Gawd...give this idiot a blow job so we can get him outta there already!!! Okay, you can see I'm fired up about politics. Always have been, always will be.I am a single mom, something I never thought for a million zillion years I'd thought I'd be saying. But yes, against all wishes and medical odds, in October of 2005 I became a mother (it would have been Septmeber, but the little bugger refused to come out!). And now I can't imagine life without my beautiful daughter. She is this little bright, intelligent, crazy, fabulous being that has given me a sense of pure joy. I recently lost my beloved dog Andy after 13 wonderful years together. My heart still aches deeply and it doesn't seem to get easier as time goes on. I am currently back in Santa Barbara, my hometown. I spent a good portion of my 20s in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, ID, and much of my 30s in various parts of Washington State. All three places have given me friendships that have had great impact on me and will last a lifetime. True love is something I've been lucky enough to experience more than once, including the love of my life. But things were not meant to be, and I'm too filled with wanderlust to settle down for anyone any time soon, if ever. Right now I work in insurance, but I know there's something better out there for me. I have no room for prejudice or stupidity in my world. If you have some sort of a problem with another "group", take it elsewhere. Difference of opinion is one thing; ignorance is another. "I am extraordinary. I am just your ordinary average everyday sane psycho supergoddess." - Liz Phair

Music:

To me, music is music... stop talking about who's better or more deserving or whatever and just be lucky to have it in your lives. Imagine your lives without music. Would you be so all up in your face about which artist is better suited to be recording than another?? I like what I like. I had a guy who works with me start in on the Paula Abdul songs on my iPod. He's 10 years younger. Thinks he goes to all of the latest concerts, is into all of the latest bands. He's not far behind me and he doesn't even know it. It's just music. But it's more than that. So shut your piehole when you want to start criticizing someone else's tastes. Just sit back and feel lucky you get to listen to all the music that's out there and shut up.
