Omarose, meaning beautiful in Ancient Egyptian, is a 24 year old singer songwriter currently between London and Leeds. I chose the name because the description (see below) seemed scarely accurate to my personality and is meant to mean Rebecca in ancient egyptian, which is my real name. As for me and my music, well according to my mama, ever since I was young and not even able to form words I would sing myself to sleep. She tells me that it was my destiny and i feel that too. Ive grown up on a healthy diet of old soul greats like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye and pop legends like The Beatles and love music more than I can describe. Now aged 24, I have been singing since that tender age and have fast developed (and am still developing) my own style to become a singer who works in the Soul / Jazz field with an array of other influences . Having worked in the studio on projects has also given me an appetite for production, and I recently completed my degree in music production at LCM. In the past few years, I have gone back to playing the piano, an instrument which helps me to write and create. I have also just finished writing my first real EP/album which I am proud of. It gave me a real taste for the whole process and now I really can't get enough of this music mess. I also work with many other people on projects as well as my own and love to perform live.
