About Me

Matt Hamilton is a 24 year old percussionist, pianist, songwriter, producer and DJ who has just completed his studies at Leeds College of Music. He discovered Jazz aged 11 when he first performed Herbie Hancock's 'Chameleon' with his school orchestra. Ever since then, he has been writing and performing music that is inspired by Jazz and Jazz related genres- from Ragtime to Garage. He finds inspiration from Jazz greats and UK bands such as Incognito and the Brand New Heavies and hails Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and Quincey Jones as biggest influences. Matt is a religious follower of live music and found the 25th Annivesary of the Montreal Jazz Festival as his first pilgrimage. You can listen to examples of his first studio produced album, on which he featured heavily as a musician, as well as wrote and produced.
