I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

God created me for a purpose and I'm spending the rest of my life trying to walk that out -- focusing on who He created me to become. He blessed me with so many talents and abilities sometimes it's difficult to focus on just one at at time, but all in all I know part of my purpose is to take un-realized creativity and make it a reality -- something people can see, hear, and/or feel. Whether it's acting, producing, coordinating, managing... that's my thing. But beyond my occupation(s) in life, I know I'm here to be a motivation to others and to change the world! For more on my acting career, visit: www.candiceafia.com

My Interests

Watching movies, acting, hanging out with friends and just chillin', reading, shopping when I actually have money, curling up with a good book and some comfort food.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet people who I can inspire and who inspire me. I want to meet YOU! And not just meet you, but get to know YOU -- who you are, what makes you tick, and inspire you to become more and more who you were created to be as you inspire me to do the same.

Music:

Gospel, R&B, a little Hip-Hop, jazz, pop, rock, contemporary Christian...I like a little bit of everything. Never been a great music lover -- I'll get a CD and listen to it to death for a good year or two and never buy another one. Whatever's on the radio that doesn't annoy me at that particular moment and has a good beat I'll bob my head to it and it may even become my favorite for that month.I also love spoken word. Check out this group that I love "Destinations" -- they've got some of the hottest spoken word artists I know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMTCh5iN6XE

Movies:

The Color Purple -- all time favorite!; Shawshank Redemption; Pretty Woman; Lackawanna Blues

Television:

Grey's Anatomy; House; Girlfriends; ER; Without a Trace; But really I'll watch anything -- sadly. Even the stuff that is absolute junk. It's like an accident on the side of the road -- you just can't turn your head away. Reality shows like America's Next Top Model -- love it -- can't help it. so right now, I'm trying to limit my TV intake. Garbage in - Garbage out.

Books:

The Barbarian Way - Erwin McManus; Blue Like Jazz

Heroes:

Jesus, Dad, Mom, Bryan Crute, and Damian Boyd (For those of you who don't know these people, just know that all of these people have inspired me to go beyond the status quo in life and/or I have watched them love people so unconditionally it makes my head hurt -- including me in my craziest, ugliest, most un-attractive and un-lovable moments)
