DJ Ruckus

DJ Ruckus has always been into music. It runs deeply in his family Jr kimbrough, famous blues singer (Great uncle); Chicago base rapper Raw-deal (Brother); Marcel H, DJ/Producer (brother) although he has moved on to other things he continue to be a huge influences. When Ruckus was 5 he would pretend he was a radio DJ playing some of his favorite songs all the time to his friends and family.At age 10 Ruckus would go to backyard parties and watch the Neighbor hood DJ’s do their thing playing everything from House to Hip hop. As he got older the idea of being a DJ Seemed far away. Even after being on his own he met other DJs who were willing to teach him but nothing ever happened. In 1999 after living in Carbondale, IL for 2 years Ruckus and his wife decided to move back to Chicago not knowing that his dream of being a DJ had just begun. He calls up an old friend who was also DJ that played House music. That was the last straw. He went out and put his DJ equipment on layaway at the local DJ store. Once Ruckus got his equipment he got into House Music and it was practice practice practice. After practicing for 4 month Ruckus was asked to do his first house party and a plenty more came right behind it and from there it was House mix tapes for his fan & friends.In January of 2002 after spinning a different club and privates parties Ruckus was offered his first residency at Club Mercury now known as the Crocodile Lounge on Wednesday nights then moved to Thursday night and that lasted 1yr until the club burned down but Ruckus did not let that get him down because he still had offers to do other parties with other Promoters (Shack-O-Love, love & Music Stony Island records, Chilom Entertainment, Putdown Production & Soul SQX Production)In January of 2003 the House music scene was getting to be an over crowded market and the gigs had started to slow down and Ruckus was Getting offers to do more private. He was offered a job as the official DJ of Stony Island Record. He got back in the party scene to show off what he could do but the only this he was missing was a good DJ name. As a sign of his rebirth he changed his name to DJ Ruckus.In January 2004 DJ Ruckus Hosted a party at SUBTERREAN for unsigned Artist Presented by Chilom Entertainment. This was also the year the Ruckus decides the he needed to know more hip-hop DJ and more people who shared the same goals and ambitions. So he started networking with other Djs --DJ Commando, DJ Blizz, Phatmike, and Scooter B & Averi Minor.
