Naki the Beatman was born a star. From his first High School group JustUs to Precyse, and hosting The Beatman Show on 89.5 WUIC college radio. Naki possessed flare and character which is needed to succeed and rise to the top in the entertainment industry.Through his accomplishments with music and college radio, his creativity was finally professionally recognized in 1998 at Chicago’s number 1 urban station, WGCI due to the freelance work on WGCI's nightshow THE BAD BOYZ MIKE LOVE & THE DIZ Naki was doing production & parodies like "Jobs, Jobs, Jobs" a parody of DESTINY CHILD's "Bills, Bills Bills", "No Rats" a parody of TLC's "No Scrubs" and much more. Naki's work ganed the attention of then program director ELROY SMITH. Elroy hired Naki on the spot as Crazy Howard McGee’s board engineer and creative director for the morning show, along with weekend hosting duties, this position was the biggest radio opportunity in his life. Naki’s production and creative genius behind the hit single, “The Crazy Slyde,†and many other well known radio parodies, Naki has kept Chicago in a laughing rage and anticipation for his next move. In 1999 Naki served as the tour dj for Lupe Fiaso’s group “Da Pak†(signed to epic) and hit the road.Naki’s talents could not go on unrecognized. In 2001, he branched out to a new urban station in Chicago, WPWX (Power 92), to become ½ of the top rated night team, The Choklit Jox. While hosting the show for over two years. Naki helped bring the night show to 2 in the market. With his love for music, Naki used his position and created an outlet for unsigned Chicago artists at the time, such as Kayne West, Twista, and Do or Die, with The Chicago Power Hour which spotlighted homegrown artists every Friday night on his radio show. Naki also used this opportunity to create a mixtape which featured the hottest Chicago artists titled, “The Choklit Jox Presents, the Chicago Power Hour Mixtape Volume 1â€. Naki produced all the music on the album and released it on his production company, LMG, along with WPWX (Power 92). The CD was the first of its kind in Chicago and went onto sell over 30,000 units in 47 different markets.Early 2003, Naki left his successful radio show to expand his name. He went back to WGCI and not only is the creative director of the Crazy McGee morning show, he now adds Assistant Music Director to his title. On top of his production role on the morning show, Naki reports all the entertainment 411 with, “On tha Low,†which is syndicated on WGCI, WRJH and WKKV. In addition to music and radio, Naki the Beatman is a fixture on MTV2. Naki hosts MTV2 Hip Hop, Sucka Free Sunday and adds his voice to the popular show, ‘Hip Hop Slanguistics.’ After leaving the now defunct DJ organization, the Tech.Nitions, Naki joined Chris Lighty and DJ Scrap Dirty as the Violator All Star DJs was born. In 2007 Naki lends his voice to the popular MTV JAMS show “LOOK AROUNDâ€Naki is one of Chicago’s hottest music producers. Some of the people Naki has produced for include: Ludacris, Skillz, Twista, Syleena Johnson, 50 Cent, Do or Die, Loon, Common, 3LW, Diszwone, T hud, Scientific, and many more. His Production Company, LMG, has sold over 50,000 plus units of their mixtapes: The Dirty South Top 20, D-Block/Beatman collaboration mix tape, Chicago’s Finest Mixtape, Chicago Power Hour Mixtape Vol. 1, and Nutty Boyz Ent.
