About Sounds For People
In Miami Beach, Florida, where musical influences from around the world converge, so did three DJs with a vision to expose Europe and the United States to the unique euphonious experience that has come to be known as the South Beach sound. A little bit of intrepidity and a passion for music brought Marc Sacheli* , Pierre ZonZon* , and Ivano Bellini* to South Beach in the early 1990s.
The three men, who all have backgrounds in both djing and business, were quick to recognize the unique music scene that was burgeoning in South Florida. With all three DJs helping to create and expose South Beach to the ever-changing European music scene, they knew it was time to expose the rest of the world to this new phenomenon. In 1996, SFP (Sounds For People) Records was born. One of their missions was to bring European house music to the United States. To get the music coming out of Europe to the United States faster, SFP used the English compilation format as a model and produced compilations for South Beach formely hotspots Bash, The Mix Afterhours and still going strong Club Space. Their other goal was to introduce local artists and producers to the American and European house scene. At the time, many of SFP's compilations reflected the incredible South Beach sound and the fever was beginning to catch. South Beach"s reputation was exploding all over Europe, coming to be known as the winter Ibiza.
SFP's trademark immediately caught the attention of superstar DJs and producers and very quickly their roster was filled with a veritable who's who in dance music such as Danny Tenaglia, Peter Rauhofer (Grammy winner), Robbie Rivera* , Antoine Clamaran* , Bob Sinclar, RON CARROLL* , Saeed and Palash (gramy nominee), Kid Creme, Eric Kupper and/or Junior Jack. Over the past eight years, the South Beach label has done more than 300 releases. SFP's compilations include tracks from such notables as Simply Red, Moby, BT, Funky Green Dogs, David Morales and even a spoken word piece from actor/director Sean Penn!
To accommodate most DJ's tendency towards label loyalty and as different styles of dance music emerged, SFP started to create other labels. Since 1996 SFP Records* has included additional labels to its ever-growing venture. Deep Touch, Deep Touch Black, Filtered, Filtered Traxx, Manga Beat, Asphalt and Soulgroove were all added to bring the South Beach sound to the world.
The SFP group of labels became the Global night clubber's soundtrack as DJs all over the four continents like Danny Rampling, Carl Cox, and/or Pete Tong, spun and compiled many tracks released by SFP's labels on more than a thousand different compilations including the world renown Ministry Of Sound, Buddha Bar, Pacha, Cream and Cafe Del Mar. Our videos are being played on MTV Europe and some of our tracks are featured on the most watched TV series such as Queer As Folk.
While Miami Beach is well known as a vacation spot, its signature mix of house, Chill-out and lounge music is also becoming a landmark. For the past years corporations aim to associates their products with the South Beach music lifestyle. SFP has done several projects with Club Med, Lâ€Oreal, Smirnoff and Benetton.
While Ivano Bellini* continues to DJ, travels the world getting SFP's custom picks out to the dancing masses, from Paris to Ibiza, to the famous Miami Winter Music Conference, SFP has brought international acclaimed DJs to dozens of successful events.
Muisc dowlnoad will soon complete the sfprecords.com website and more artists will be added to the SFP’s rooster.
