About Me

(Q&A between Judd and Maggie)
J. Maggie, how long have we been playing together?
M. About 6 years, although we've been singing together our whole life with our 5 other siblings.
M. What was it like having a major label deal at 24? J. Well you were 20. It was surreal. We played a showcase in NYC at a bookstore and the A&R guy from RCA was there who signed us a few months later.
J. What happened next?
M. We were flown to LA for a few months to record with Joey Waronker who's worked with Beck and REM. The family theme continued. His father Lenny Waronker executive produced our album, Subjects. His credits include producing Randy Newman, Rufus Wainwright, as well as being a long time Warner Bros executive so it was a real honor.
J. So after the record was released nationally we did some touring. J. Who were some of the artists you liked playing with?
M. Playing with Feist at the Troubadour was a highlight. We also warmed up for Michael Penn and Evan Dando (interesting fellow).
M. So how did we end up in Nashville?
J. We drove. We've been here since 2007 and recorded an album, Kingdom of Noise, in our apartment with Neilson Hubbard (Glen Phillips, Garrison Starr) and then restored a cottage in East Nashville, a great home-base for the next phase of our music career. MyGen Profile Generator
