SAVING GRACE

Supporting Peter Combe in July!

About Me

In an indie-saturated scene, Saving Grace is creating their own brand of folk with strings and acoustic instruments at the forefront. Bringing organic sounds and evocative lyrics to the Australian music scene since studying together at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Saving Grace is ready to launch their second EP.
Adrian credits their sound to a variety of influences: “Sam has been singing in choirs for 15 years. I have just finished my degree in composition analyzing experimental music. Amelia is involved in producing hip hop, Sonja loves all styles from gypsy to baroque and Rob was originally a jazz drummer.”
The second EP, produced and engineered by Sean Carey from Thirsty Merc, reflects a change in their song-writing. Although the folky elements of Saving Grace’s sound are still prominent in the second EP, people familiar with their music will notice darker themes and experimentation with ambiguous harmony, orchestration and structure.
A month after forming in 2005, the band reached the finals of the Sydney University Band Competition. Since then, they have played at Sydney’s top music venues including The Basement, The Vanguard, The Gaelic Theatre, and The Oxford Art Factory. The five-piece band has also played alongside artists such as Kate Miller Heidke, The Herd, Cloud Control, Melanie Horsnell, Bluejuice, and Peter Combe. Saving Grace has also toured the country, with the Adelaide Fringe being a highlight that received critical acclaim. These performances have garnered the growing popularity of the band and the anticipation for their second EP.
"It was obvious that this band has a very loyal and passionate fan base and the reason is simple: the songs are fantastic." - Drum Media
“The show was a great blend of originality and unusual musical and vocal sounds that left me wanting to hear more” - The Independent Weekly
“Saving Grace make delicious music for discerning ears. Their strong songs and powerful delivery are given further depth by deft string arrangements and close vocal harmonies.” - Steve Griffiths (Code One Entertainment)
