Someone scream...ODDITIES!

About Me

The Oddities are a collective of artists who have combined their respective skills in performance, production, emceeing, DJing, breakdancing, and graffiti with the intention of presenting a comprehensive entertainment experience. They provide a distinct alternative to the art that currently has the market flooded. In one form or another, the Oddities have been winning over new fans with their unique style of hip hop since 1996. After a few adjustments, creative disputes, and assessments of each associates priorities, the Oddities officially formed in 1998, combining two already established groups in Toronto known as Dynasty and Awkward Why?. Members of the Oddities released both solo and group projects under pseudonyms such as Claustrophonics, Awkward Why?, and Sprawlic Stream, all which received critical acclaim with no formal distribution. The Oddities debut family album, The Scenic Route (released on Battleaxe Records) is in stores now. Preferring to focus on quality rather than quantity, the Oddities have taken their time perfecting their art. The chemistry between the lyrical talents of MCs Bookworm, J-StaRRRrrr!!!, Psy, Sny-Whip, and JSN JNS is not found anywhere else in hip hop today. Combined with the intricate beats provided by Bookworm and Bounce as Jigsaaw Productions, The Scenic Route is a masterful orchestration of hip hop music. Graffiti artist Wysper, an official member of the Oddities, also lends a hand to the project as he handles all visual aspects of the group including album covers, posters and t-shirts. Each member of the Oddities brings their own distinct style to The Scenic Route, and proves that the Oddities are a truly superior rap collective. The Oddities have rocked countless shows, both as headliners and as an opening act across Canada and abroad. With their dynamic live show, the Oddities have been establishing strong fan bases in every market theyve performed in. Theyve warmed the stage for a veritable whos who of todays hip hop scene, including Jurassic 5, De La Soul, Devin the Dude, Blackalicious, Dilated Peoples, Cypress Hill, Prince Paul, Souls of Mischief, Non Phixion, and the X-Ecutioners. They have also worked with some of the more elite acts in Canada, such as Moka Only, Esthero, Buck 65, and IRS. The Oddities have established themselves as one of the premier underground acts in the country, and are currently touring, promoting The Scenic Route, and spending time in the studio recording their next album to be released on a yet unnamed record label.
