The band Born Loco stands for an energetic mix of metal, hardcore and aggressive raps. The five band members give 200% on stage, which results in energetic and convincing live shows. The band has gained a lot of live experience since its foundation in 2000.
BL won the band competition 'Rondje Flevoland' in 2001 and played in Dutch venues like Hedon (Zwolle), Paradiso (Amsterdam) as well as the Liberation Day Festival Almere.
Early 2002 BL changed its line-up and began developing a heavier, tighter sound. The result of this change can be heard on the promo 'Revolution in Reverse' , which was released in 2003 and received a lot positive reviews of well-known magazines and e-zines.
After producing a professional video clip for the song 'Paradox' , the promo was released as a single by FreeMusic/BMG in March '04.
In March 2005 Born Loco released the 4-track E.P. 'Fueled by Despise' which was presented during two release parties in Almere and Amersfoort.
In August 2005 BL recorded the song 'Tear it Apart' for the Dutch horror movie 'Dood Eind' which appeared in Dutch cinemas in August 2006. In this movie Born Loco also has a guest appearance as 'Cujo', the band from one of the main characters.
The single 'Tear it Apart' was released in September 2006, also containing the recently recorded song 'Get Out!'.
Shortly after that the band returned to the studios to record the song 'Against the Grain' for a Various Artists album called 'Best of A' . This is an album which features some of the biggest pop, rock and metal bands from the city of Almere. This album was released in January 2007.
