MATTOCK

About Me

Mattock has been active since march 2005. Founders of the band Maarten Gunsing (vocals) and Martijn Hermsen (guitar) played together before with drummer Jan Voogt and bassplayer Niels Appels in Spoonted. When these the musicians decided to change course in music, the name Spoonted became Mattock.

Since the change of music course there had been a huge explosion of inspiration and creativity at Mattock which has resulted in a lot of new material and bookings.

From the new material Mattock recorded a album with twelve songs in the beginning of 2008. The songs sound more clear, tight and alternating than before. The cover has been created by vocalist Maarten Gunsing. The demo can be heard at MySpace as well as at the official website www.mattock.nl.

The music could simply be described as rock though there are also influences from the metal genre. Important element actually are the clean and melodic vocals which should make the music accesible to a large audiance.
