when you die I'm gonna snort you

About Me

I was born to a truck driver WWII Marine father, and a twin peaks sort of mother in the backwoods of Pennsylvania. I came up in Ohio (we moved a bunch of times) listening to country, glitter rock, punk rock, and early rock n' roll, including some groovy 78's that were in the family collection. Gotta guitar around age 12 or so, started learning Ventures, Duanne Eddy, Buck Owens, and Black Sabbath tunes, and the rest is history as they say. Some of you have seen me on early MTV in the 80's, and some of ya in Ronald Koal & The Trillionaires, Pleather, Cryin' Out Loud, The Dragsters, The Schramms, The Cyclepaths, Chorderoy, Sprocket (N.Y Loose), Kevin Salem, Rickey Barnes & The Hootowls, and currently The Cowlicks who won the California Music Award in 2004 for "Outstanding Alt. Country Album of 2004". I like to write my songs drawing from many genres, and I'm constantly trying to break down the walls of pre-thought stagnant music. Why be someone else when you can be yourself? I started working at an early age, bought a kick ass electric guitar (I didn't think I wanted an acoustic guitar for 3 years after I started), and then I heard "Over The Hills And Far Away"), and bought a wooden box. I wanted to leave some sort of musical mark. I feel I've succeeded, and life is oh so good my friends. Oh yeah, by the way I play some bass guitar, and was replaced in a punk rock band in NYC by Dee Dee Ramone. I'm not joking! Check the Cowlicks myspace site for upcoming shows. Alt. Country? Americana? Cowpunk? How about Heavy Western? Live long and prosper.
