About Me

The most beautiful thing in the world, the sexiest thing in the world, is the sight of someone doing exactly what they were designed to do.
These days, Nicole has been holding off most bookings lately to focus her energies on finishing her CD projects.
The first one is a very special fundraising project for Point Pelee National Park, entitled PELEE MUSIC. The 2-part DVD/CD combo features a special informational DVD about Point Pelee and the several endangered species and species at risk, along with a beautifully recorded CD with the song entitled "Keep the Song Alive", cowritten by Brian Sweet and Nicole Barron. The DVD Premiere is Wednesday, NOV 28, at 7:00pm at the Pelee Days Inn. Admission and popcorn are free. 96.7fm CHYR Radio will be shooting on location that afternoon, so tune in to hear the various interviews about this special video. Video was produced by David Ross (www.DaveMakesMovies.com)
The second project is a 9 song CD, featuring 4 songs by local songwriter, Bakhus Saba, and 5 of Nicole's originals, all performed by Nicole and her band, The Prospects. Expect this CD to be out for sale early this winter.
The third project is an 11 song CD, of all Christian originals by Nicole, performed by Nicole and The Prospects. This powerfully inspirational CD will be available in early spring. Watch for the tour to follow!
To request Nicole's songs, go to www.chyr.com or email your request to: [email protected]
Nicole will be performing during the event at the Art Gallery, called "The Art of Wine". Saturday, November 17 at 7:00pm. You can pick up copies of Nicole's CD's, "FIRST" and "Upstairs At Jacks", while you browse the many wonderful local artists' works at the Leamington Art Gallery.
Still heavily involved in the small but influential child-sponsorship charity, REACH International, Nicole is organizing and hosting several benefit concerts and fundraisers. REACH's mandate is to provide relief, education and child sponsorship, focusing primarily on access to education and teaching self-sufficiency, while preserving the culture and dignity of the people being helped.
Some comments about Nicole's style:
Says one of Nicole's fans, "She sings like my soul thinks it can. Ha-ha. It's absolutely beautiful. I just love listening to her voice. I'm always watching to see when she performs next."
She has enough of her own original material to fill approximately 120 minutes (30 songs). Nicole writes songs about real things: relationships, challenges, hard times, coming out of difficulty, and the awesome grace of God in her life.
You'll get bass-y rhythm piano with funky fills combined with her soulful voice that can be raw and powerful one minute, intense and evocative another and delicately innocent the next. Nicole's sound is a powerful intoxicating mix of Linda Ronstadt, sweet Amy Grant, some casual-Carole-King, with Carly Simon attitude and some well placed growls. Every song is delivered with compelling emotion.
When she performs with her band, The Prospects, be prepared for funky, vigorous, rockin' tunes that make you want to get up and dance, snuggle into the one you adore, or go out and make the world a better place. She's a real crowd-pleaser.

REACH International Update!

Well, we held an enormously successful event at the Leamington Tomato Festival on August 18th, 2007, which raised a ton for REACH. The event was called "Who's the Hottest Tomato" !!! Since Leamington is the not only the Tomato Capitol of Canada, it is also the Greenhouse Capitol of North America! So, local greenhouse growers and marketers competed by showing off their finest tomatoes while raising funds for REACH. We raised just short of $4000 for our first annual "Hottest Tomato Competition" Many thanks to our wonderful judges who worked very hard and ate a lot of tomatoes! Erie Shores' Red Cluster Tomato was named the "Best Overall Tomato in the Tomato Capitol of Canada"! Congrats to Erie Shores!! Many thanks to all who participated and to the general public who really embraced our event. We're looking forward to an even bigger and better event next year. REACH plans to use the funds for the crucial project in Uganda. Be a sponsor for only $20/ month. 100% of the Sponsorship Money goes directly to the children. REACH does separate fundraising for operating expenses!
If you would like to donate to this cause that REACH is undertaking in Africa, or would like to sponsor a child please click these highlighted words or go to www.reachint.org
Many thanks to all and God bless,
Nicole

Much thanks to you & The Prospects for a great performance on August 11, 2007 at the Teutonia Club. I was so impressed with your performance & what a great voice and player you are. I have been in this a long time and I've got to tell you, you have a great band. You really pull that band together on stage there's no mistake about that.
