*************NOTE************
I AM NOT AMANDA MARSHALL, SIMPLY A FAN WISHING TO BRING ALL HER FANS TOGETHER.
*****************************Born August 29th, 1972 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Doug and Gencie Marshall. At 19, singing in a nightclub, Amanda was discovered by singer/guitarist Jeff Healey who took her on tour with him knowing that she had very little experience. He was impressed with her voice which got her an offer for a record deal while she was touring with Healey. She turned the deal down fearing that her lack of experience would hurt her in the long run. Amanda continued developing herself as an artist until she felt comfortable enough to begin recording. She hooked up with David Tyson(who also produced Alannah Myles) to work on some original material. Once again Amanda was attracting the big labels. In the end it was Sony who signed her. Her first album was released in 1996 and had six hit singles with huge successes coming from the radio single “Birmingham." Though a lot of Amanda's fan base is in Canada, she has found a huge supporter in England, Sir Elton John who picked up her CD at a London HMV. The recommendation by Elton John was enough for radio to pick up on this album. Touring with Tom Cochrane and John Mellencamp are also part of her successes. In May 1999, Amanda's second effort, Tuesday’s Child, was released with the first single “Love Lift Me." We see her full talent in this production as Amanda co-wrote 12 of the album’s 13 songs. Amanda's third album, Everybody's Got A Story, released in Canada November 2001 and in the U.S. June 2002. She also has a song on My Best Friends Wedding soundtrack, entitled: "I'll Be Okay" and on the soundtrack to Tin Cup entitled: This Could Take All Night". She covered Neil Young's song "Don't Let It Bring You Down" on "Out Of The Blue: An Acoustic Tribute To Neil Young, released in 1994. Her Last album to date is Intermission: The Singles Collection. She added two new songs to finish up what she calls: "Act One"..
