E. Grizzly

I slow dance with destiny, I hold hands with fate.

About Me

E. Grizzly won the 2006 Independent Rap Artist of the Year at the 16th annual L.A. Music Awards. E. Grizzly's album Hip hop is dead! was nominated for Best Breakthrough Album of the year for an independent artist at the 16th Annual L.A. Music Awards. E. Grizzly was hand picked by MTV2 to write a song about Martin Luther King Jr for a special MLK tribute in January, 2007. He was invited to MTV2 studios, recorded his verse about MLK and MTV liked it so much they aired his MLK tribute through January and all through Febuary for Black History Month. They still randomly play Grizzly's MLK tribute and it can be seen at http://www.mtv2.com/series/20077. E. Grizzly is the founder of A-HA! Events which is a non-profit organization to promote independent artists in South Florida. Every showcase put together by A-HA! is promoted by the artists and all profits go to the bands who perform instead of outside promoters and booking agents. E. Grizzly has been signed to two different independent labels in just the past 4 years. In 2003 he signed with A Type Tactiks in Philadelphia for The Anti-Matter EP. In 2006 he signed with Puerto Roc Records for The Hip-hop is dead Vol. 1 album and he is curently still working with both labels. He also works with a third label called Up All Night Productions who helps him with the funding for his projects. E. Grizzly is the front man for The Cornerstoners which is a band from Miami and the music is a mix of hip hop, spanish percussion, funk, poetry, and jazz. E. Grizzly and Alukard were the first indie band to perform at Mansion which is the most popular club in Miami. That performance has opened the door for other local bands to perform there as well. E. Grizzly was the executive producer of the CD Indie Unplugged Miami. He did all of the art, help mix all the music, got investors to pitch in money for the CD, did all the arangement, and helped put the whole show together. People often ask whether Nas and E. Grizzly were involved in each other's work, since they have both released albums with the same title. They are not. But E. Grizzly and Puerto Roc Records are currently negotiating with Nas, Def Jam Records, and their affiliates to resolve any confusion over our album titles. E. Grizzly is currently in the studio working on his second album called "The revolution will be televised" which will be released by Puerto Roc Records in early 2008.Other websites where you can catch E.
