About Me

After a 10 year battle with leukaemia, Danny has released, as Time Off magazine put it, a “truly awe – inspiring” debut album.
The Transplant Tapes is an audio photo album of Danny’s monumental recovery from the life threatening bone marrow transplant. Rather than relive the pain of his battle, Danny has tempered the music to reflect his own positive attitude to life with soothing acoustic tones and heart on the sleeve lyrics delivered with conviction, warmth and honesty.
Like a soundtrack to a very personal film, the varying musical styles on the album combine to create this cohesive story of a healing soul. There’s classic 50’s country (“Yellow Rose”), folk pop with a bossa beat that Jobim would be proud of (“Wait”), Polish polka (“In the Morning Light”) heart wrenching folk (“Rock Bottom”) and modern alt. country (“Can’t Turn Back” and “Isolation”).
Danny had help from close friends such as Luke Moller who adds lyrical fiddle lines and understated string arrangements and Cam Roach who protected the beat – the pulse keeping this body of work alive.
“The Transplant Tapes” is available now through Butter Chicken Records via MRA Entertainment (BC001)
