About Me

ARTIST~CURATOR~VISUAL ANTHROPOLOGISTCurator for el Taller's gallery in Philadelphia - making art and films - going to grad school - "mami" to a whole bunch of peeps but only responsible for Sebastian & "Los 3 Gatos": 'Busterina', 'Noo-Noo the Girl', and 'Crooks the Tail'. Check out my new film below titledStill painting but gave up playing with glass shards for the time being...currently making 16mm films and digging my anthropology of gender seminar...have traveled a bit recently and came back the better for it (Bali - all over! A+++, Italy - Bertinoro and Venezia del mio cuore, Japan - Kyoto, Tokyo, and in between, Puerto Rico), *love* good wine and the bubbly: a good mimosa on a Sunday afternoon never hurt anyone...my latest wish is to paint portraits of great people and little beasts I know...Feel free to check out some of my artwork and films posted here!

My Interests

Figuring out new ways of painting on film, working on my dissertation proposal, great shoes, quirky clothes with a sense of humor, trying out every 'Lush' cosmetic ever made...for *free* if possible please, playing with my felines, catching up on old episodes of my favorite shows, looking up weird stuff on Netflix (and finding it!), Balinese chic, wabi sabi, kokeshi dolls, linguistics (on the side), the anthropology of island art, books and records, music music and more music...

I'd like to meet:

Passionate artists from all walks of life (graffiti, tattooists, "traditional" - ha-ha!, etc.), experimental filmmakers, videophiles, eye-people in general (but other senses are welcome too), designers (as in 'of ANYTHING' worth designing, which is just about everything), DJs who love vinyl (let's keep it real for as long as takes it to melt into oblivion ^_^) or not, writers and travelers and writer/travelers, anthropologists without a chip on their shoulder (where are you people?), nihongo no gakusei, did i say filmmakers?, musicians (tres important!), and people who don't seem like they take themselves "too" seriously but take themselves seriously enough to make something positive out of their lives. For those who have figured out that THAT kind of life is a pretty intense ride, and for those who are friends through MySpace, I have posted a f short conceptual film titled RIDE, which you can below...
