NOW THAT I GOT YOUR ATTENTION, I am going to try my best to keep it...
About me? Honestly, that isn't as important as who you are. But to if you must know a few specs (to ease your fears about this being some COINTELPRO), I am a woman in my early 20s, race unknown, a college graduate, who advocates on the side of social justice and hopes to be part of the revolution when it comes (sounds cliché, I know). But like I said, it's is not about me... what's important is who you are. This site's purpose (other than hopefully helping to sparking the revolution) is to facilitate the voices of women, womyn, and womin of all colors and their allies. Before we move on, let me say this, as to address this upfront. This page has NO anti-white, anti-male, etc; in fact we appreciate the efforts of white allies, and male counterparts.
Now, the general goal for this page is to allow women of color can speak freely in an environment about things that are important to them. Think of this page as a collective network of ideas, resources, information, and conversations. Everything from how the weather is in a particular area to global politics. So why the need for the dramatic name? Well it served its purpose in getting you here, right? I think that the eroticism and hyper sexualization of women of color, coupled with ignorance, are 2 of the largest stereotypes of women of color, so hopefully the name will do the same with others in hopes of keeping them here long enough so we can show them we are everything but stupid colored girls and sexy brown bitches. Although, I won’t deny we are some sexy mofos!

Explanation of the Page Layout & How it Works
Blogs: Please take the time to contribute to and read the blogs. The blogs are a place for contributors to showcase their poetry. Add this MySpace page as your friend and message me your work including the title, your name, mood, or whatever other info you want included, and I will post it for you. When you are ready for your work to be taken down, just message me, and I will take it down.
Groups: Please also take the time to join the associated group ( Collective Thought ). Here ideas, comments, and information can be discussed and exchanged through the forums which you have the power to create, so please, utilize them. If everyone participates, the group will be self-maintaining and very interesting. I ask for everyone to respect freedom of speech, as well as the feelings of the members of this page/group. Ideas CAN be expressed respectfully... surprising huh? Now go dro some knowledge...
Comments: Whether its in response to a blog, or a group discussion, or even someone stopping by to say hi, the idea is that nothing will be censored. Every comment is valuable on a large scale and even if offensive, all forms of comments can help nurture dialogue which otherwise wouldn't ever come up. I do reserve the right, however, to remove comments if there is an overwhelming theme of hate that is prevalent throughout a number of them.
Bulletins: They come as frequent as the information. I will definitely repost valuable information from other members. I will also try to send out at least once a week (but it is possible that I may sound out multiple) a bulletin entitled 'InfoCircuit' which will be information that I researched and felt I should share with folks. Those bulletins will look something similar to, "InfoCircuit: Racism in America article." If you have some information that you would specifically like for me to repost, please alert me to it as I cannot read and repost bulletin that is in my bulletin section. ONE MORE TIME: PLEASE MESSAGE ME YOUR BULLETIN IF YOU NEED ME TO REPOST IT, BECAUSE I DEFINATELY WANT TO HELP SPREAD THE GOOD WORD, BUT I HAVE MANY CONTACTS AND CANNOT READ EVERYTHING. Also, feel free to comment about the stuff I send out on the page or in the group as well.
Advertising of Events: YES PLEASE! There is no such things as a shameless plug. Post them in the comments section, in the group (UNDER THE APPROPRIATE FORUM [music, film, book recommendations])or forward the info to me and I will publicize them in the next bulletin and add them to the music, film, book recommendations on the page.
Ultimately, this page is what you make of it, which means you need to take personal responsibility in your contribution to the page OR lack there of. But I do hope and will strive to make it so that this page is as comfortable of a space for all to feel they can contribute and participate. Lets reclaim this space as ours and make this MySpace thang more political or at the very least more conscious! Don't think of this is not just another feminist, anti-classist, equality driven cliché, instead, think of this as a TRUTH movement-- the truths which you might not have been told... and the ones you never paid attention to.
