Reading. Being a nerd. Nerdy things. Politics, with an understanding that everything is political I'd like to qualify, that I am a political scientist, and right now my areas of focus are: citizen movements, corporate control of political institutions (such as the WTO, Congress, the White House,) and then again, corporate control of the media. I guess even more recently though I've been doing a lot of research regarding Native American women leaders. And I must admit, I'm passionate about it. Other than that stuff. I like kayaking, water fun, biking, going to movies, and fixing up my house. I have great friends, and I love spending time with them. My neice and nephew. My chosen family.
People, people who need people.
I'm just trying to evolve. I like music that makes me think. Which in general is all music. I find it more distracting than television. To name a few of my favorites in heavy rotation at present: Imogene Heap Elvis Costello Zap Mama Richie Valence Fiona AppleAnd though she isn't in rotation right now, I do love Ani D.
Um. Good ones. Thanks. Someone who I used to adore hated gratuitus violence in movies. When she told me why, her disdain stuck with me. So give me funny, give me dramatic, give me a documentary and a cup of coffee. Give me something that is meant to massage my brain, assage my heart, make me wonder about for days and I'll be happy.
I don't have cable, because I don't want cable. I have better things to do with my mind.
I'm an avid reader. A few of my favorite authors are: David Sedaris Gabriel Garcia Marquez J.K. Rowling Ana Castillo
The foster parents and children who are also a part of my family. My sister Stacey, my little brother. Kelle Louaillier, Kathy Mulvey for their perseverence. And all the truth seekers out there, in particular Dr. Baker, for always inspiring me and never giving up on me. Organizers who have done their part to fix this crazy mess of problems we've become so used to and still have a sense of humor.
