This whole beat thang started in the tale end of 1999 at columbia college chicago. I was enrolled as a computer animation major when I realized that I hated the idea of becoming an animator. What I wanted all along was to work steadily on music and attempt to make a career out of it.Longer story short, I got a MAC G4 that I'm still running, my brother gave me his small mackie mixer that was collecting dust in his apartment, and I had an old record player, a borrowed keyboard, a cheap mic, and an acoustic guitar I found for 8.00 at a resale shop (a proud purchase that I've kept the tag on.) Been hustling to become a better musician, songwriter, and hopefully person since, minus a bump or two in the road.This brings us to the album I'm recording right now, "another early evening." It started out as a 12" idea that I was going to put out myself. this was all funded by chocolate originally. more specifically $2000 I inherited from my grandmother(elvira strazdins r.i.p) who worked at russell stover's in nebraska(just like the I love lucy episode except my grandmother was a widowed immigrant not a sassy american redhead.)Ironically enough then I got DIVERSE(chocolate industries) to record a song for me, and having had the support locally from ANACRON for a while now, he hooked up a MURS collaboration. Then DIVERSE, and SEVEN put me on my first bigger release with the JUS BIZ 12" in early 2004. Sharing the 12" with MADLIB, PREFUSE 73, on the boards on my first release was and still is a huge highlight for me...I'm debating quitting now while i'm ahead.Go To The Giant Peach to get Earmint's Another Early Evening and more great titles from EV Records!
