Under new management ......

About Me

Dustfactory is a collection of people and dolls who make noises.
The band consists of: Morgan, guitar and vocals, Jasper, vocals and high voltage, Pascal programming and beats. They work with guest singers on this new album including Felix, and most notably Hana who features on the Dustfactory album Dollseye.
Hana is a mystery, an enigma. It is believed that she comes from Eastern Europe somewhere, but no-one is really sure where or whether this is actually true. Some people say that she has affected her accent to add to the myth of who she is.
Hana has had a colourful past. It has been said that she had an affair with Jane Cale from the Velvet Undergrowth during the early eighties. It is believed that they had a child together, but this has never been proven. I guess that only they can answer that question, but of course they won't.
Her life has been full of highs and lows, drug dependency, divorce, failed relationships, failed suicide attempts, the list goes on...... Her music career has gone a similar way to her life. She signed for a big label when she was very young and they tried to make her sing things that didn't suit her (second rate pop songs) ............ the tracks were released but she never really made much of an impression on the charts, or the public. The label then decided that they were not going to release anything by her, but that they would hold her to the contract which mean't that she couldn't release anything with anyone else. They would not even allow her to work on collaborations and stopped her from recording altogether. She did sing in cabaret clubs and dingy bars across Europe, but the whole experience left her bitter and probably contributed to the personal problems that she has experienced during her life so far. Her life is a mystery and all of this could be more of the folklore that surrounds who she is than anything based in truth.
During her life she has had a string of lovers, and a series of stormy relationships. In the early part of her career she was always dating older men. Ironically the older she got, the younger the man or woman on her arm became, until they were dubiously young. Most of these later relationships were marred by drug and alcohol abuse, sexual experimentation (including an alleged affair with a famous couple who are now both dead and had a child named Tigerlilypad), and numerous arrests for drug related incidents. Her record company finally dropped her, probably expecting her to die quietly with little impact on them. Now that she is no longer tied to her old label, she is now free to record again. However, the music industry has changed and she is now seen as an odd, out of fashion woman who is troubled and troublesome. Hana has a reputation for being awkward and temperamental, which she is, but when we put her behind the mic in the studio her voice had a broken, world weary, quality that can only come with the experiences that she has had. Hana is a fallen star, someone who should have been known throughout the world, but who got lost on the journey there.
More on Hana and the rest of the group to follow..........
Meet Charles, the new manager of Dustfactory
Bio: Charles had a little opium problem when he was travelling with the circus back in '42. He's since gotten over his addiction though he's now terrified of wearing shoes. He likes to put small cigarette burns in the lower left ruffle of each and every pair of Victorian bloomers he owns.
Charles loves cockatoos and collects vintage photographs of pandas.
