Geek girl and artistic muse.

About Me

I am originally from Alberta Canada. I was born and raised there, but I lived in Mexico for 2 years and can speak, well mostly fluent Spanish. I moved to the USA (Georgia) in December 2000
I am an artistic muse who designs and replicates costumes as a way of self expression.
I often make appearances at conventions, charity functions, entertainment venues, commercials and in print all across North America. I use the myspace profile to meet other people with similar goals and interests.
Its an uncommon specialization I admit, but I have always been enthusiastic about the performing arts, so this is my way of getting my creative side out; costuming does have its rewards. With my outfits, I have been able to participate in the fashion and movie industry, which has always been my unattainable dream.
I do some work professionally and some just for fun. I now have a large portfolio, pose for artists, perform in independent film and just generally enjoy working in front of the camera, especially if it involves costume work. I have a full list of credits and tear sheets on my website:

My minor hobbies include horseback riding, Zen Karate and going to the gym. I love the martial arts and I wish I hadn't been obliged to leave my school in Canada. I was being trained in competitive sport karate and did very well. I also had to give up horse back riding several years ago. I'd love to be able to do both again but for now it's on the backburner.
Please note that I do not commision costumes for other people, nor do I desire to become a fashion designer. I create costumes for the fun in wearing them.
My friends Jason and Grant from the TV show TAPS have a new radio show! Listen to them on Saturday Nights 8-10pm EST.

My Interests

Acting, modeling, photography, costuming, costume designing, technology, computers, movies, independent film, skeptical ghost hunting, horses, Friesians, martial arts, karate, zen karate, working out, cardio, weight lifting, downhill skiing, skiing in the mountains, food - treat meal, sushi. I also like gaming such as World of War Craft, The Matrix Online, Path of Neo and other 3D games. Gee what am I not interested in?

I'd like to meet:

I'm interested in meeting other people who share my passions such as photographers, professional costumers, stylists, actors, directors, producers, music industry folk, stunt performers, martial artists and the like. I enjoy discussing "industry" topics or networking for jobs/friends.

I'm flattered that so many people have asked to friend me but at this moment, I do prefer to be selective with who I friend.

If you'd like to be friended by me, it is best that you actually be involved with the performing arts and at least have something in common with me.

My apologies if this offends some nice folks out there, but I've seen too many guys just adding "hot girls" to their profile. It's flattering but but I don't have time to weed hundreds of pervs out from the nice people.

Send me a message, let me see your profile and I will be happy to friend you if we have common interests. If your profile is listed as private or underage, I won't be able to friend you.

Music:

I like just about everything, even foreign music. Examples: Enya, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Aleks Syntek, Fey, Shakira, etc. I'm not too fond of country or hip hop, but I can tolerate some of it. I'm more of a person who likes a specific song, rather than a genre or a whole artist. If I like it, I like it, if I don't...I don't then.

Movies:

I enjoy action, science fiction, romance, drama. It's hard to point out all my favorites. A few are The Matrix, Star Wars, Star Trek, just about anything with Gary Oldman, Chronicals of Narnia, Harry Potter, etc.

Television:

I don't watch much television but I like Battlestar Galactica, What not to Wear, National Geographic, Animal Planet, Ghost Hunters, Dog the Bounty Hunter and Adult Swim material like the Venture Brothers. I find myself drawn to educational reality shows and some science fiction or fantasy. I like the Simpson's too.

Books:

I enjoy reading. Most of it is pretty cliche. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Eragon, Tamora Pierce's fantasy series (Song of the Lioness, etc), A Series of Unfortunate Events, etc. Mostly fantasy books I guess. Life is boring enough as it is, I think I will avoid reality series.

Heroes:

God, Joan of Arc and Gary Oldman.
Joan of Arc because well, she was a girl who wore armor and fought in wars, in a time when people were incredibly prejudiced against women. And even when they betrayed her, tortured her, lied and were completely beastly, she didn't cave in or give up. Most of us would say anything to get out of that situation and Joan died telling the truth. I hate the movies they make on her, they never tell what really happened and make her out to be crazy.
Gary Oldman, he is my favorite actor. I don't have a crush on him or anything stupid fan girl like that. I think he is amazing. You can give him a role and it's never anything like any OTHER role. He doesn't just play himself over and over again. He can do a full range of dialects that make me envious. You can put some makeup on him and he is a different person. I didn't even recognize him in the prequel to Silence of the Lambs. If I could take acting lessons from him I would. That guy is freaking talented.
