My name is Rich Cross and I've lived in Austin since 1981.Why Austin? -Music-the beauty of the land-old friends living here-why not-I was born to roam-SO I roamed around the country-then I settled down here. Its working out, so far. Music History-When I was about 7 I got a 3 string guitar (D A and E strings) It was a beat up old acoustic guitar. I played it left handed. Then I got a complete guitar and began to play right handed.I took some lessons and started making noise. Played in teenage party bands as a kid back in Michigan. Played in various acoustic/rock and bluegrass bands through the 70s. I first came to Austin in 1975 on a hitchhiking adventure and got drunk at the Armadillo!!!!!!!! Checked out Buggs Henderson and Quicksilver that night. Came back to Austin in 1981 and the Armadillo was a memory. I'm glad I got to go that 1 time though......Since I've been here I have met many interesting people with aspirations similar to my own. I enjoy creating songs with these artists. I've done my share of garage and living room gigs to have equaled 1,000 world tours.Past Bands include: Avalanche Blues Band-Muskegon MI. 1977/1981 The Blade- Austin, TX. 1981/1984 Radio K- Austin TX. 1985/and will always be(Jay lives in Guam today and Gary recently moved back from New Mexico - that town I cant spell -Alba-kerky) Rich Cross with 20 Apes Lago Vista spring party- 2004 Rich Cross with Friends Lago Vista Spring Party-2005Current Studio Project: The Hollywood Indians - Z ROOM -Austin, TX.Current Live Project: HOLLYWOOD INDIANS- Today-I still hang out at recording studios here in Austin and play my tunes with the "ever changing" HOLLYWOOD INDIANS. I continue to meet exceptionally talented artist/musicians and great friends.
