Add to My Profile"It is not often that such an excellent album crosses my desk from a band that I haven't encountered before. Ms. Morvan is a dynamite vocalist, and forget about the comparisons to Bonnie Raitt or Susan Tedeschi -- her guitar playing stands with some of the best blues work anyone is playing these days. This disc just crackles from beginning to end. A great supporting cast, especially Pat Morvan on the bass. Well recorded. As if that isn't enough, the original tunes are stellar (especially the title track). A very impressive recording, and a name I am going to be keeping my eye on in the future."Gregory R. McGuire, Acoustic Guitar Magazine, Globe & Mail, RadioDirectX)Laurie Morvan Band - Let Me Love You Baby

Add to My ProfileCures What Ails Ya is red hot blues rock as defined by guitarist/vocalist Laurie Morvan. The 12 new songs, all written by Morvan, are an empowered look at a multitude of life's joys and challenges. Showcasing the impassioned guitar work of Laurie Morvan, the CD boasts an impressive list of guest artists, including several Grammy winners. From the blazing stratocaster-on-fire guitar intro of the middle class anthem "Kickin' Down Doors", to the playful chickin' pickin' of "Where Are The Girls With Guitars", to the haunting and fluid melodic lines of "One Little Thing", to the organic front porch slide guitar twang of "Don't Give It Up", all the way through to the final passionate wah wah blast of In The River, Laurie Morvan's guitar playing sets the tone of this entire CD.The well-crafted songs immediately engage the listener with both vocal and instrumental hooks. The story lines delve into gut-level issues everyone can relate to, and are driven by Laurie's clever and catchy lyrics. Her powerful vocals span every mood from self reflection and pain to whimsy and rebellion, culminating in the vulnerable, moving revelations of "Family Line".This CD is an accurate portrait of the no-holds-barred-what-you-see-is-what-you-get sincerity of a Laurie Morvan Band performance. Every emotion is laid bare, every musical nuance is explored and nothing is held back. The LMB is looking to network with other bands, musicians, promoters, publishers, record labels, talent buyers, publicists, radio station programmers, and internet music sites. Thanks and best wishes to you all!
