Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained...

About Me

Kreeper arrived on the Scottish Borders music scene in April 2001, and, like most young bands, started out playing a range of covers from Metallica to Deftones at local venues mainly to their friends and anyone who would turn up. Unlike most young bands, however, Kreeper have stuck and worked hard, playing every gig they could and in the process building up a large fanbase, and, until recently (when we acquired our second guitarist, Alec) have had the same line up since 2002.
Paramount to Kreeper's sound are the dual guitar riffs, staccato 'blast-beats' of the drums and the slap bass combined with brutal but melodic vocals, laid down by the current members; Liam Rutherford - Guitar / Vocals, Johnny Beveridge - Drums, Kyle Rutherford - Bass, Ross Dickie - Vocals, and newest recruit Alec Munro on Guitar.
After gigging extensively throughout the central region of Scotland, the band released their first demo "Downkill" in 2002, followed shortly by their 9 track E.P "Obsidian" in 2003 recorded and engineered by Tommy Roseburgh (Fish, Incredible String Band).
Continuing through 2004 the band branched into northern England supporting a number of touring bands including Charger, Glasgow noisecore legends Churn (best known for playing on a McVitie's advert) and punk mob Freaks Union, and also continuing to play local shows, where it wouldn't be unusual to hear stories about black eyes, bruised limbs and even concussion after the band's set being filtered back to the band.
After selling over 400 copies of 'Obsidian' one of them fell in to the hands of producer Mark Daghorn (One Minute Silence, Raging Speedhorn, Mendeed and, erm Slade), who promptly invited the band down to his residential studio 'New Rising' in the heart of the Essex countryside, the result of this was 2004's "Darkness Blinds", which has been extremely well received by both critics and fans alike.
Kreeper's future looks to be a bright and exciting one... if not a battered and bruised one.
