Sounds Like: if the box in the corner isn't good enough - "...the ever engaging, ever intimidating Joyless Kill (JLK) from the Duns area, demonstrating in no uncertain terms that you can still put the fear of death into people..."

"Joyless Kill are the first band onstage. Hailing from the Borders, their tight metallic assault is refreshingly lean and flab-free, with no faffing about with quiet bits. Those who champion pseudo-metal types like Lightning Bolt would shit themselves in terror if they were to hear Joyless Kill. And hats off to a
band who can add cowbell to a song and still make it sound evil."

"It was billed as a night of "proper metal", and from the moment Joyless Kill kicked it off with their metal core-infused assault, it was clear that no one was going to be disappointed. Elements of 90s hardcore were blended seamlessly with more modern influences, while a few notes of the "Imperial Death March" showed they weren't afraid to send up the weighty solemnity affecting so many in the genre. They had their bases covered well, and with a few more gigs under their belts they could develop into something truly special."
