Violinist Daniel Andai has shared his versatile artistry as concert soloist with orchestras, recitalist, orchestral and chamber musician on five continents as well as the Middle East, the Caribbean and 20 United States in some of the worlds leading concert halls (including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Sydney Opera House and Vienna Konzerthaus to name a few) while collaborating with some of our worlds most prominent artists. A consistent prize winner and laureate of numerous competitions & awards, most recently the 2007 Raphael Bronstein Award from the Manhattan School of Music, the 2004 Schlern International Competition in Italy, 2005 Dr. Luis Sigal International Violin Competition in Chile, International Soloist Festival in Moscow, Bach Society, Music Teachers National Association, FLASTA Young Artist Award, Mizner Centre for the Arts, Lynn University, New World School of the Arts, and many others, have led to over three dozen performances with such orchestras as the Florida Philharmonic, Moscow State Symphony, Miami Symphony Orchestra, Renaissance Chamber Orchestra, Virtuosi Camerata and the Welsch Chamber Orchestra, among others.
Currently, Daniel Andai is a substitute violinist in the New York Philharmonic and has collaborated with the Florida Philharmonic, New World Symphony and members of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He is a member of the UBS Verbier Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra in Europe. In 2006 & 2007, he toured with the orchestra throughout Europe, Asia and Australia and the chamber orchestra with Maxim Vengerov as part of the Vengerov Project. Other tours with the chamber orchestra will include performances in Europe, Japan and Israel with Maxim Vengerov, Yuri Bashmet, Sarah Chang, Takacs Nagy, Leonidas Kavakos and Heinrich Schiff. Other appointments include concertmaster of the New Amsterdam Symphony in New York holding the Earl Kimser Chair, the Miami Symphony and the Orpheus Institute Chamber Sinfonia and was a principal of the Kurt Masur Seminar Orchestra. He is also a member of the prestigious contemporary music Claremont Ensemble led by famed composer Richard Danielpour. He is also the first violinist of the Vols String Quartet, which has appeared throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Canada and Europe in recitals as well as educational outreach programs to several schools ranging from the elementary to college levels.
Daniel Andai holds the Bachelor or Music Degree (graduating with honors) from the Lynn University Conservatory of Music in Florida where he was a student of International Soloist, Sergiu Schwartz and the Master of Music Degree in Orchestral Performance where he studied with New York Philharmonic's Lisa Kim & concertmaster, Glenn Dicterow. His involvement inaugurating the Kids Village Youth Orchestra in Florida as well as being a guest artist and soloist is highly regarded. He has taken part of several orchestral CD recordings as well as movie soundtracks and was the solo violinist on the award winning PBS Special, "Sugihara ~ Conspiracy of Kindness", Chile’s Channel 4 RED Station program, "Cachureos" and National Public Radio WXEL, WKAT Classical Station, Univision, Telemundo Stations. He is a recording artist for AMZ Records in Miami.
