Since their inauguration at the 2004 Schlern International Festival, the Völs Quartet has celebrated success in concerts and master-classes throughout northern Italy, the United States and the Caribbean.
Their 2004 2005 concert season consisted of performances at the University of Puerto Ricos Travesia Concert Series by invitation of the universitys chancellor, the Mount Dora Festival of Music and Literature and the Brandeis University National Womens Committee at the Steinway Gallery in Florida. Other concerts included special appearances at the Court Room Concert Series as part of the Schubert Club, the University of Minnesota, Laredo College and the North Dakota Sate University, among others.
The Völs Quartet is also highly involved in education, bringing classical and popular music through workshops to various schools, youth orchestras and offer side-by-side concerts around the United States including master-classes at the Laredo College in Texas.
The ensemble will continue performing this summer with a tour at the University of Nebraska, the Minneapolis Bravo Music Festival and teach at the Robert Asp Music Festival in Fargo.
The Völs Quartet is comprised of National and International competition prizewinners from Ukraine, Puerto Rico, and the United States studying at such schools as The Juilliard School (Rebecca Jackson), the Manhattan School of Music (Daniel Andai), the University of Minnesota (Lucas Shogren), and includes the professor of Viola/Violin at the University of Texas.
