PJ Spraggins

James PJ Spraggins II Drummer/Composer/ProducerJames Spraggins II, affectionately known as PJ, developed a love for music at an early age while growing up in Bessemer, Alabama. Like many musicians from the South, PJ formed his musical roots in the church. From the time he began junior high until his senior year in high school, PJ participated the school band program. After graduating from high school PJ received a music scholarship to Alabama State University where he participated in Marching Band, Pep Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band and percussion ensemble. After graduating, PJ made his home in Birmingham where he currently lives with his wife.During his professional career, PJ has had many opportunities to perform with numerous artists playing different styles of music. Those artists include Randy Owen (Alabama), Byron Cage, Dorenda Clark (The Clark Sisters), Ronnie Laws, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Ike Stubblefield, Eric Essix, Joey Summerville, Melvin Miller, Tekneek, William Green (Magic Dream), Toni Redd, Katrina Willis, Kelley Oneal, and Maria Howell among others.
