I just started doing yoga and it helps to relax. I enjoy photography and computers (Apple). My current hobby is cooking (vegetarian) but I also eat fish.Technically, I practice Pescetarianism.
I actually did meet actor John Cleese (from Monty Python) while he was vacationing with his wife in Baden Baden, Germany. He has been a comedy hero of mine for years. I already knew he was ambivalent to being a celebrity, so I didn't ask for an autograph nor did I take his photograph. He was doing his best to not get recognized although I saw him from behind at the check out counter and knew immediately who it was. His wife called me over saying "Don't worry, he won't bite." We talked briefly. He asked where I was from. The rest of that morning was surreal for me. It is very easy to confuse people with their body of work or their legend. That said, It would be cool to meet Dave Chappelle, David Lynch, Steve Jobs, Brian Eno, Ect. I would prefer a interesting or funny person instead of simply a beautiful person. I think David Letterman is underrated as a comic influence.
I love music. New picks are "Too Dark for a Picture" along with the singer's side project "birds fled from me" found right here on myspace. After the record industry sued a poor young mother for peer to peer sharing, I only want to help unsigned bands or bands that sell directly without a major label. I also like new finds my brother, Tom or Mike C. send my way. I have everything from Astrud Gilberto to Tom Waits. I love Bjork, My Bloody Valentine, Amy Winehouse, Papercuts, Yo La Tengo, Van Morrison, Sufjan Stevens, Postal Service, Air, Antony and the Johnsons, Aterciopelados, Beachwood Sparks, Belle & Sebastian, Ben Folds, Beth Orton, Betsy Badwater, Beulah, Bic Runga, Bright Eyes, Camper Van Beethoven, Cat Power, Chapterhouse, Cibo Matto, The Concretes, Dean Martin, The Dears, Death Cab For Cutie, Dinosaur Jr., Doves, Dusty Springfield, Edith Piaf, Eels, Elvis Costello, Elvis Presley, Feelies, The Flaming Lips, Frank Sinatra, Franz Ferdinand, Galaxie 500, Gene, The Gentle People, Gil Mantera's Party Dream, Gram Parsons, Hank Williams, Hooverphonic, Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions (I love Hope Sandoval), Huun Huur Tu, Interpol, Ivy, James, Joanna Newsom, John Cale, Johnny Cash (I know, trendy), Ken Ikeda (I feel like I am in a Mariko Mori exhibit), Kendra Smith, Komeda, Kraftwerk, Louis Prima, Luna, Lyle Lovett, Margo Guryan, Maximilian Hecker, Mazzy Star, Modest Mouse, Neil Young, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Nick Drake, Nico, Nina Simone, OPAL, Patsy Cline, Paul Weller, Pedro The Lion, Petula Clark, PJ Harvey, Plone, Polvo, Portastatic, Portishead, Quasi, Queen, R.E.M.(I talked to them on modern rock live), Radiohead, Red House Painters, Ron Sexsmith, Ryksopp, Ry Cooder, Saint Etienne, Sebadoh, Shelleyan Orphan, Shins, Sigur Ros, The Smiths, Stereolab Tortoise and so many others. Too many to list (I tried). I am a huge Brian Eno fan. My last download from iTunes a band called Papercuts. Although I have been listening to G4tv's podcast on iTunes more than anything. Of course, I love my friends Lupe and Nick Willett.
I saw Ratatouille. Brad Bird (along with John Lasseter) is so brilliant. The Vespa chase scene was fun. I saw "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room." Corporate greed at its worst. The ties to Bush are sickening. I saw "Blades of Glory." Along with "Talladega Nights" I think both of those movies are pretty funny. I tend to follow directors when I mention films. Martin Scorsese, Wim Wenders, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, The Coen Brothers, Federico Fellini, Wes Anderson, Miyazaki, Kieslowski, Kurosawa, and others. I saw Match Point by Woody Allen and thought is was a master at the top of his game. I have quite a few DVD's. I am trying to quit buying though. You don't have to own EVERYTHING. A also liked Amelie, Lost in Translation, Shaun of the Dead, and The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.
