Going to see bands, drinking a pint of ale at the Hopleaf, meeting people who are not in advertising.

raised in the old school shoe-gazer... mbv, ride, lush, cocteau twins, triumph, judas priest, throwing muses, red house painters, golden gram, aimee mann, josh ritter, pixies, the dream academy, doves, ron sexsmith, polvo, sparklehorse, camper van beethoven, u.f.o., gary moore, superchunk, lloyd cole, the sundays, the shins, culture club, america, the who, r.e.m., the replacements, portastatic... and most recently shocking pinks.
hmmm. my tastes are changing. still love foreign and indie, but have a greater appreciation for some hollywood. love to rewatch Tres Colours by Kieslowski and Jim Jarmusch's stuff.
well i said i'd never get premium channels again, which i do. this was right after i said that i'd never have cable again (rots your brain), which i do. i hope i can stick to never trying auto-fellatio again (bad for the back).so there are a few good shows on HBO. there's extras and there's curb your enthusiasm. great shows. i also like the soup with joel mchale. mostly 'cause he's cute.oh, and i still like america's funniest home videos (reruns with bob saget). there, i said it.
so many books started. so few books finished. checked out woody guthrie's Bound for Glory from the library. had to return it before getting 50 pages in. it was good. maybe i need to buy it and finish it, as the library has a waiting list. must finish reading a book. must finish reading a book.
