...Up and about in the music world since the age of 13...Started in in Madrid playing acoustic guitars in the post-woodstock, somewhat folky 70s. I developed a real passion for anything to do with vocals and fingerpicking and kept on doing the stages in a buildup to my last band in the 80s, thrashing out an eclectic mixture of Reggae and Power Pop. Lost my way somewhere in between and spent another 11 years on stage doing hotel entertainment on different Spanish holiday isles. But the story really started about 9 years ago, when I took on a venue in Ibiza called Las Dalias (nowhere else like it in the world! check our web www.lasdalias.com - or check the MySpace Profile amongst my top friends). I started throwing together local musicians of unquantifiable talent into large workshop formats to do tributes to the big classic acts (Lennon, Police, Bowie, Marley, Creedence, Elvis, etc). I've now pretty well withdrawn from live production and gone into my own music. I presently have ongoing projects with Harris (Shapeshifting), Cathy Battistessa (More than Ever People), Javier Vargas (Vargas Blues Band), Carlos Segarra (Rebeldes). Have had the pleasure to work with Paco Fernandez (Cafe del Mar), Manolo Diaz (Palabra de Guitarra), Justin Travis (Nervous), Lenny Krarup (Ibizarre) and dozens of extremely talented musicians from the island. I produced an album hand in hand with Lenny Ibizarre (a most emotional of periods for both) for our venue in 2001 with a collection of mindblowing acoustic chillout tracks by undescriptable island talent that had rocked our stages over the years and now, with musical changes on Ibizan horizons, am preparing another for next year.... These days I've turned somewhat reluctant to gig and feel happier to songwrite and produce. At present, I am working with Lee Harris, a blindingly acute songwriter from Brighton, U.K., on a collection of acoustic tunes that explore the parameters between love & war under the title "Between Venus & Mars". For now, there are 17 tunes in the works of which 7 were taken last winter to mix and master in SubZero II studios in Stockholm to the loving hands and ears of Gregers Krarup, known in the Ibizan Chillout world as "Solid World" (check his contribution to the Cafe del Mar series ). Amongst the uploads (all from this project), you can hear "Oh Good Desire", with the collaboration of Paco Fernandez on the Spanish guitar and Konstantin Chakarov on the violin (and the brilliant heels of Flamenco dancer Eva Maria Redondo)...."Closer than Far", with Manolo Diaz with his standard silky guitar sound.... "Cold, Killer Cold" with the axe of Javier Vargas at full swing and Justin Travis blaring away on the blues harp.......and finally. "The Light of the Stars", the song that gives the title of "Between Venus and Mars" to the album..For this year, I will be involved with opening a label for all the musical magic happening on the island these days... More info on this will be added soon, so keep ears at ready!! Two of the upcoming projects for this summer will be "Between Venus and Mars" with Harris, and the other will be an Acoustic album with a selection of songs by artists that play on the stages of the venue I run...Thank-you Ibiza!!! THERE IS YET ANOTHER SONG FROM THE ONGOING "HARRIS" PROJECT FOR LISTENING ON HARRIS' OWN PROFILE (AMONGST MY TOP FRIENDS) CHECK IT OUT!!
