About Me

I am currently moving between bands-So I'm gonna tell you a little bit about myself. I love love love love love to sing...Been doing it since I was a tiny child. 1st ever acoustic live performance was in the African Centre in Camden-London when I was 8 years old. The resident guitarist was very accommodating...My 1st taste of of a live band situation was as a guest vocalist for Techno Gangsta's Nige Champion and Mark Kulak of N'Joi. It was pretty short lived, they replaced me shortly afterwards with the 'Drop dead Gorgeous' Saffron and went on to conquer the world!A few years later I joined a 'crossover' 7-piece Reggae band called Bushfire. They were very cool and had a very big following back at home. I was 'sworn in' to the family and spent the following year performing in clubs, universities and festivals all over the UK. Complete eye-opener. Bushfire's final gig was very much the end of an era.The next few years were spent working with all manner of local acoustic set ups. By now I was hanging out with my ex Kev Wood, who was and still is, a musical genius. We recorded about 3 albums worth of material and performed whenever and wherever we were given the opportunity.Kev was with me when I had my 'fantasy' musical moment realised. We had gone to see Gil Scott Heron for the 2 or 3rd time at The Jazz Cafe. He was asking for requests and I wanted to hear Blue Collar (obviously). So one minute I'm shouting and the next minute Gil is passing the mike down to the front row and I'm singing my heart out with the band dropping in behind me..Very special moment for me. I absolutely idolise that man.Anyway! Here's what happened next... I carried on writing/writing/writing/in 2004 I went to Ibiza with my DJ friend Fluffy-met up with my fine friend Chris Gonzalez who runs Las Dalias/He invites me back to sing and arranges for me to front a 3-piece band for the duration (there's nothing this man can't pull out of the bag)/I came home- hook up with N'Joi again and spend the next 3 years performing 'Anthem' at Revival gigs all over Scotland/Hook up with Kev and the boys again and call ourselves 'Snuff Daddy'-gig-gig-gig/Play Chinneries at Southend Seafront and end up on an unsigned talent program broadcast on Sky TV/Join the national choir of SGI-UK (Buddhist organisation) and find myself on stage at The Royal Albert Hall singing to 3,000 other Buddhists (very cool)/August 2006-I hook up with my lovely new friends Matt and Jay and we begin a brand new musical collaboration...So you can see, it's not so much a Band Biog, more a kind of whistle stop thing..vocally I don't aim for perfection, I just try to project what's happening at the time...Whatever..I am always excited about the future....

Sounds Like: I don't sound like anybody in particular. People tell me I have a unusual tone to my voice...I don't know. In Ibiza, Lenny Ibizarre told me I sounded like Betty Boop I was more than happy with that...
