A church punk is someone who has chosen to rebel against the world and serve a greater purpose. To break way from the main stream lifestyle that the world offers and be different in our Lord Jesus Christ. To be in the world but not of the world.
What’s the ministry?
The bible says Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Many churches have decided they can pick and choose who can come to know Christ! Well I disagree!!!!!! God loves and died for EVERYONE. There are so many kids out there who have been turned away by the world and churches. I want to gather a team and go to the Underground and show them that God does love them. That you can have peace and joy in your life if you come to know Christ. I want to show these kids you CAN be PUNK and a Christian, you CAN be a ROCKER and a Christian, you CAN be YOU and be a Christian. That is what God wants after allYOU. He made us all different, individuals, so theres nothing wrong with keeping your individuality and being a Christian.
CPM Preacher - Josh Day
First off I’ve been in church all my life! I grew up in a very strict Baptist Christian home. I can’t complain about the way I grew up, in most cases I would be considered lucky! We were very active in every church we attended, which brings up the problem. Growing up I saw the good in church as well as all the bad! I was right at the stage in my life where I could be involved in youth and in the church, when a major church split happened. It seemed we were stuck in the middle due to my dad’s position in the church. We ended up having some major problems in the next two churches we attended. It seemed like Satan was throwing everything he had at us! Well it worked on me. For a long time I grew very bitter toward God, and the whole church thing. After losing a ton of friends I just turned my back on God. I figured if Gods so good why do all my problems come from church. I found myself running to the underground scene. I befriended kids who also had run into problems in church. Most of the kids had been kicked out of church due to the way they were dress or looked. For some the church didn’t care what they looked like but the youth gave them a hard time! It wasn’t long before my dad was called to preach. The thing was that I had given up on God but he never gave up on me. I felt Gods call in my life the same time my dad did but ran from it as fast as I could. To make really long stories short there finally came a time when God had enough and took away all that I was hiding behind. We have to realize God always gets his way!! I began to go back to church and luckily for me my true Christian friends took me back in. Some of them don’t know it but they saved my life...and one day I will explain that to them. As soon as I got back into church Gods call came running back, even harder this time. I finally went forward to surrender to preach. After that I decided to go back to the underground and try to reach the crowd I once ran with. I want to let them know there is hope, and God does love them. If churches aren’t willing to go and reach them then WE WILL! Everyone deserves a chance to hear the gospel, and to know Christ!!!

Well unlike Josh I didnt grow up in the usual Christian, always at church when the door was open, kind of family. I grew up with an older brother and an older sister who I love very much but they give me a hard time every once in a while. They all believed in God but really didnt talk about it. My cousin went to church on a regular basis and I would go on retreats and things like that with them just because it was fun but I never got into GOD, as I should have. As I grew up I went through middle school always being picked on and I thought I was always the outcast of the group. So on the outside I was happy and all but on the inside I was angry and tired and fed up with everybody but it really didnt come out to the public. It wasnt till my senior year that josh asked me to come to church with him and I was like sure whatever. Now its been a year and its amazing how happy I am! Yea, I still get depressed every once in a while but I go back to church and it strengthens me. I am starting to love punk music and people think that Christianity and Punk dont go together but it does. You can still have the mosh pits, have a great time and still be a Christian and thats what this ministry is about, getting the people that feel like they dont belong or left out and bringing them back to GOD, where they need to be.
