I like to use this page as a place to put my home recorded music. If you would like to hear more of the professionally recorded songs, please visit my official website.
So, who am I? I am a writer, mainly. Of course I can sing. I was classically trained for years, so I had better be able to sing. All that you hear on this page is written by me. I would like to sell many of my songs, so if you are interested in buying, you just let me know. hee hee!
I have two books in the making; one is almost finished (after two years, hurrah!) The second is in it's infancy. I write poetry (many that are not set to music), and short stories.
What else can I tell you? I have a Sicilian name, an Irish Mom (Mam, Mum), an East London address and an American accent (I'm originally from NY). I have a problem with buying designer shoes. At this point, it is getting to be a sickness. I have some freightening abilities. For example, I can see germs and other molecules in the air with my naked eyes (and I don't mean the little specs of dust that float. I am talking like what you see under a microscope). I've seen this since I was little.
I can make a cup in oragami. I have a degree in classical music, yet some of my songs consist of only 2 chords.
I have an incurable brain problem, besides the facts that I think too much and draw distasteful pictures and give them as gifts (not birthday gifts, mind you, more like "here's a picture to put a smile on your day type gift.") I have Multiple Sclerosis, which I will tell you because I want to spread awareness of this disease of the brain and Central Nervous System. (Brits call it a condition, Americans call it a disease.) I call it a pain in my fucking arse. But there are worse things to have like no fashion sense.
MS, as it is called, effects my vision, but I can still tell the difference between my Chanel pumps and my YSL stilettos, and that's all that really matters, my darlings! Plus, I can still see the damn germs! MS also effects my balance, but if you think that bumping into walls will turn me away from Jimmy Choo, you don't know me. Besides, I rather enjoy people thinking that I am drunk during the day.
About the songs on this page...
Voice of One
I think the less I say about this one, the better. You must listen to the lyrics. I will say that this song is in honour of the true Americans- The Native Indians.
Time Won't Wait
On one of my trips to Mexico, I was at a club and was feeling a bit low. I left by myself and sat on the beach until the sun came up. I cried for everything that I ever felt sad for. It was like nothing else in the world existed except the tide and the sun. A few years later, a friend of mine accidentally drove a jeep off of a cliff near that beach. I think of him watching that same sun.
Stranger
This is recorded on my laptop. When I first moved to London I felt out of my skin and slightly lost. I was walking aimlessly around Pimlico one day and a nasty man at the ticket booth in the tube said something rude to me. I can't remember what it was, but I remember thinking, "I'm a Stranger." The chorus came into my head immediately. I sang it the whole tube ride. I went home and wrote the rest. It's a good thing I use public transport because I used to write while I was driving and that is dangerous isn't it?
Summer Night Sky
This is based on a boy/man I know. I also recorded this on my laptop, with a sock over the microphone. I like home recordings like this. I think they have an intimacy that you don't get in the studio. (not to mention the hissing sounds) Oh well.
