ANGERKILL
is not just a band you go see at your local grimy metal dive, or merely music
you hear on a CD. Its an enigma deep inside any lover of music, exposing focused
feelings of an undeniable energetic force. ANGERKILL
is what your feelings can sound like. Sharp technical ability paired with
limitless creativity, born of a musical bloodline, yields a solid staple to an
thriving Texas metal scene.
ANGERKILL formed in 1998 by guitarist/vocalist David Diaz de Leon. The first EP,
AK Demonstration: Unscathed was recorded in 2000 with the original lineup. When
the position for bassist came available after the studio sessions, David's wife,
Jennifer Diaz de Leon joined. After a few months, things would fall into place
once again. In his journey of musicianship, David had a partner from the onset.
Year after year of jamming to Pantera, Sepultura, Metallica and Slayer with his
younger brother would prove to be purposeful. In need of a drummer one week
before the AK Demonstration: Unscathed CD release party, Frank Diaz de Leon left
behind 6 years of playing, touring and recording with Grammy winning Tejano and
Country artists to return to his roots and rejoin the ranks of his big bro.
Although the CD would generate average reviews, tracks such as "Dead Weight" and
"Anger Power Misery" reached ..3 and ..7 on the worldwide metal charts of
MP3.com.
In 2001, ANGERKILL recorded the
a follow up EP entitled DV8. It was this EP that turned industry heads, garnered
rave reviews from established metal websites, brought the band to listening
table of respected metal labels, and created a fierce following all over Texas.
ANGERKILL played all over Texas behind DV8 for two years, establishing
themselves as headliners in their hometown of San Antonio, as well as Laredo,
Austin and Fort Worth. The road since then has been paved with both nightmares
and miracles: death, birth, divorce, betrayal, loyalty and ultimately devotion.
ANGERKILL has recently found new guitarist, ERK to complete it's expressive
entity. These four have the chemistry and ability to easily transcend any prior
accomplishments and success. Through influences ranging from Mastodon to
Metallica, The Cure to Dream Theater, Anthrax to Slayer, ANGERKILL births an
assaulting vigor of sonance escape.
ANGERKILLs ensuing challenge to deliver unparagoned heavy music has brought the
band to their current status of recording 13 songs at Monster Music Studios with
Keith Krouse, some of which will be included on their third CD which is to be
released 2008.
