I manage one of Austin's bad-ass metal bands, SHRAPNEL, and am in the process of developing and producing a new access tv show called 'PURE METAL EPIDEMIC', a spin-off of award winning 'Pure Metal Sickness', that will hit the air next season and focus on NATIONAL METAL ACTS THAT TOUR THROUGH TEXAS. Obviously, I am all about the METAL! Recognition for the bands that comprise this scene and the audience that supports it is long overdue here in the LIVE MUSIC CAPITAL OF THE WORLD...is ANYbody listening?I'm also a free lance writer and between that and the show have been lucky enough to interview artists like SUPERJOINT RITUAL, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, SHADOWS FALL, PRONG, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA, DOPE, HANK III, KEVIN FOWLER, HATEBREED, BURDEN BROTHERS, BLACK REBEL MOTORCYLCE CLUB, ADEMA, JASON MCMASTER, NEVERMORE, all the bands on last years' MTV2 HEADBANGER'S BALL TOUR and many more. I interviewed the world's most famous rock n roll groupie once who doubles as the author of 'I'm With The Band,' and MS. PAMELA DES BARRES was fascinating in that 1 degree of separation kind of way...this doll hung out with JIM MORRISON and LED ZEPPELIN. She was THERE when the dark side of rock n roll was being shaped, tells incredible tales and...I'll admit it...that was intoxicating to me in a way that drugs and booze just can't compete with...not that I do drugs. REPEAT: I DON'T DO DRUGS...I'd like to of course but, alas, have decided that I'd rather FEEL the pain this life has to offer and LEARN from it. I am the author of "A Funny thing Happened On The Road To Rock Stardom" and I've written countless record reviews and live show reviews for local bands and national touring artists as well.THE BASIC BREAK DOWN:MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS, AND MY METAL BANDS ARE MY GREATEST TREASURES.Metal is my genre of choice but I LOVE ALL KINDS OF MUSIC...IT IS MY PASSION AND HAS BEEN SINCE THE SPIRIT OF MUSIC CHOSE ME when I was a kid...I AM SPIRITUAL BUT NOT RELIGIOUS...meaning I don't believe in organized religion but have complete faith in God born out of a long search. People ask me how I can work in metal and call myself a Christian and I say that if you truly understand Jesus' teachings, then you know that we are not to judge, that everyone is on their own path and all will arrive at the same destination ultimately...not necessarily in this lifetime. You also know that love is everywhere...in ALL things...and that means God is there. I experience it every day...try to spread it...and take comfort in knowing that...God MUST have a twisted sense of humor...BE THIS THE END OR SIMPLY A MASSIVE SHIFT IN CONSCIOUSNESS, I THINK WE HAVE FRONT ROW SEATS TO AN INCREDIBLE TIME IN THE EVOLUTION OF MAN AND IT IS AN AMAZING TIME TO BE ALIVE...I BELIEVE RELATIONSHIPS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN LIFE...I'M FASCINATED BY STRONG WOMEN..I AM LOYAL TO THOSE THAT ARE LOYAL TO ME...JUDAS PRIEST WAS THE BAND THAT CHANGED MY LIFE...I WANT TO DO more, more, MORE...101X' CHUCK LOESH AND 'NO CONTROL' IS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO METAL IN AUSTIN SINCE...dare I say it...I LOVE MOTORCYCLES...I LOVE CLINT...DID I MENTION THAT I LOVE ROCK N ROLL?!
