BIOGRAPHY
BIOGRAPHYAcropolis is an Israeli-based melodic metal project Which combines elements ofextreme power metal, neoclassical and progressive music. Founded in 2001 under the name of Area 51, by guitar man Daniel Varfolomeyev,theband's name was changed to Acropolis, while a solid line-up was based: Daniel Varfolomeyev - Guitars, Elad Manor - Bass, Asaf David - Guitars, Dror "Shoko"Pe'er - Vocals, Amir Shaham - Drums, Dana Ayalon - Keyboards.
With 3 composed songs, the band initiated recordings in Eyal Glotman's studio onAugust 2002. Several headline concerts followed as well.
When Vocalist Dror Pe'er announced his departure from the band preforming his lastshow on August 2003 and Following contacts with vocalist Dror Lukach, Acropolis re-recorded their flagship single "Hear the devil come" later that year, featuringLukach (produced by Boaz Bar-Levy).
Musical and personal disagreements in additon to upcoming enlistment to the Israeliarmy of 3 members has led to suspention of all band's activities at the end of 2003,though never officially announced.Daniel joined Folk-black veterans Arafel, DrorLukach joined heavy metallers Stella Maris, Elad was already playing with many acts such as Dehumanized, Solitary, The Fading and Matricide. Shaked was drumming away with The Fading and Dissonant.
After being dormant for over 2 years, Acropolis found a new form and life whenDaniel and vocalist Yochai Davidoff started working on original music. Solid-sounding, and song-oriented material demanded capable and talented musicians, the new line up was quickly established by old time friends and musicians.

The resurrected band Entered the studio to record a single titled "Lead the wake"which is now available for listening and download.
