Right now, The Afterlife band is looking for a label to help them move forward to promote their album, touring and future album productions.
************************************************************
The band began its way in the early 2002 when Sam Davidoff and Evgeni Yanov decided to play together some songs which they liked. The band which originally was called “Splash” played covers for some great rock bands such as Rainbow and Deep Purple .The band began at first as a cover band in order to improve their mutual playing and technique.
The first line up included Sam Davidoff on the drums, Evgeni Yanov on the guitars, Sergei Dmitrik on the bass, Bella Hezkia on guitars, Sergei on the keys and Dennis Rizkov as the lead singer. The band played few local gigs in Natanya, playing cover ups for Rainbow and Deep Purple. Genadi Davidoff and Nickolai Benikov from the “Burn” band provided a warm house and a helpful hand for the young band which often practiced and the “Burn studio”. After a short period of time, Sergei, who played the keys decided to leave the band. His place was taken by Roman Tyomkin from the “Burn” band. In the beginning of 2003 Bella also decided to leave the band for some personal reasons. That was the turning point for the band due to the fact that the replacement of Bella was Sergei “Metalheart” who turned out to be a promoting “turbo” for the band and the one who pushed them towards the “harder” style. Soon they were playing song covers for Judas Priest. Not only that, he soon began writing original material with the support of the band.
That was a busy time for the band, filled with performances and rehearsals and by the end of 2003 they even recorded a short three song demo which wasn’t distributed and is considered somewhat of a collectors item. The year 2004 was one of the best years in the bands life. They’ve recorded 2 songs demo which could be found on the internet. Those 2 songs (Break Defense, Last Silence) got very good reviews considering the low quality of the demo which was recorded live.
After that, the band toured the country with some original material of its own as well as with cover songs for known bands. The reviews continued to be good, which was also because of the exceptional energy which the band provided during each and every concert. The band participated in several festivals and cooperated with the Burn band and the Abyss Ghosts biker club. Even though the year was successful it was painful as well. That year Evgeii (who started the band together with Sam) had to leave right before the beginning of the bands tour. The guitarist Jahiel Amar took Evgenis place and in addition Lidia Kornienko joined the band as a permanent “key lady”. The band toured until the end of 2005 when Jahiel left the band due to his inability to combine his part in the band with his other occupations. His departure stopped the process of recording an album which the band was working on at that tine. The band was looking for a proper replacement for Jahiel, when Sergei spotted the potential of Elnur "Shnurik" Aliev who was at that time playing guitar in a local band called Krizers. Sergei asked Elnur to join the band when two of the bands played some local metalfest and Elnur accepted. It appeared that he was the one the band was looking for. The energy between the two guitarists was perfect which was easy to see while working on the album. The band suffered another hit when the lead singer Dennis decided to leave. It was very hard to take since Dennis was well known for his killer voice and his powerful performance. The band continued working on the album and meanwhile looking for a new singer. After a few months Lenny K took Dennis’s place as the lead singer, and the band started working with him on the album.
In the beginning of 2006 the band met up with Miko Haronian (Metal Sound Studis) who impressed the band with his long record of well known performances in Israel as well as abroad.
(such as Aeba, Lafrontera,Necrodaemon, Solitary, Winterhorde, etc) The band went then into the pre-production period. Things seemed to be working just fine until Sergei, Elnur and Lenny began to notice some artistic differences between them and the bands drummer and bass player. In April 2006 after a tribute show to ABBA with Acropolis band they went their separate ways. Now the band consisted of Sergei, Elnur, Lenny and Lida and the name “Splash” which was now irrelevant was changed to The AfterLife.
After two months the band was finished with the pre-production and went into the recording stage under Miko’s strict supervision. The recordings went well until November 2006 when it was time to record the vocal parts. Lenny turned out to be unqualified to fit the high standards of the recordings and was forced to leave the band. The band had to look for a proper lead singer yet again. After countless searches and auditions the band realized that the only one who’s qualified enough to fit the standards was Dennis, who by that time came back to Burn after singing in Stella Maris and Loud’N’clear. Dennis accepted the challenge with great excitement and the band renewed the recordings with some new and explosive energy.
In February 2007 the band went into the last stage of recording the album (editing, mix and mastering). They guys then understood that in order for this to work the entire band should be involved and so Sam Davidoff and Sergei Dmitrik came back to the band with some new powers and new explosive energy.
Meanwhile Sergei and Elnur are already working on some new material for the next album and they are on the way to promote The Afterlife's album and looking for record label.
