About Me

My name is Van. It's not short for anything...that's it. Really. If you can think of some funny name to make out of it, be assured I've heard it a thousand times before.
All the artwork you see is mine. So please don't use it without asking and/or paying. And yes, I am for sale. My goal is to find work in illustration...sequential art, storyboards, concept design, etc. I have a definite bent for dark/weird imagery and science fiction.
I currently work at the largest used book store in the US; and though I'm not making bank, I think it's the best job I've ever had.
Most of my friends seem to be a collection of folks who, for some fucked-up reason or another, find me entertaining or interesting. I love them dearly, often to the point of being more like family than my actual relatives.
I tend to be brutally honest, abrasive, and entertained by several things most people find "distasteful." I try to be a kind, caring and open person to anyone who returns the same, or anyone I think truly needs it. At the same time, I have a short fuse when it comes to idiots and emotional "parasites."
