About Me

Music has always been a passion for me; for as long as I can remember I've always loved music and have always had such a great enthusiasm for it. My deep roots began when I was young, playing instruments in grade school and high school. Even though musical tastes fell into the classical category, I feel that it was a good foundation for not only enjoying all styles and genres, but also for appreciating what others do for music and the scenes involved with genres. It takes a lot of hard work, enthusiasm, and persitance, and I truly respect that.
Growing up in suburban Wisconsin, exposure to the latest scenes, trends, and musical advances was limited at best. Even as I grew older and I had more technologies at my fingertips to explore what was out there, a naivety was still ever-present. Before I even knew what dance music was, back in 1997 I bought my first House Music CD and loved every minute of it. Even before that, as I was still unaware of dance because of my youth, I had heard Kevin Saunderson - Good Life somewhere and couldn't get it out of my head for a week. As time passed, I focused my interests back into mainstream music for a few years; that is until I visited my brother in college in '98. He dropped the Daft Punk - Homework cd on me and that was it for me.
The very next year (By this time I was a sophomore in high school) I had gone and visited him, only to find that he had started into DJ'ing on his friend's equipment. I got a chance to take a few records and even buy a few from the local record store down there (Plastik Records owned and run by Marcus Schultz), and spin em up. The first time I laid my hands on those tables and that mixer, I fell in love. For a few months afterwards I scrounged up a few old turntables and took my records and tried matching them and switching back and forth from CD player to record over and over. I must have driven my mother nuts. A few months later, I got my first set of turntables and mixer. Gemini XL-500II's and a Gemini PMX-60 mixer. Time went on and upgrades were made on the equipment, things added, record collection expanded, and passion grew stronger by day.
My beginning influences as a DJ were all over the place for genres. Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Cevin Fisher, Jëno, Doc Martin, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill, Frankie Knuckles, Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, etc. The stuff that these guys were playing and producing was beyond this world to me. I took all those styles and sounds and blended them to begin playing some funky, hard disco, chicago-ey, dubby dirty house. As I expanded my horizons my taste shifted to deep house and deep tech house, and that is where I lie today and where my heart is. No matter what it will be, it will always be house music.
Coming into the Milwaukee scene was not easy. I pushed out demo after demo, talked to promoter after promoter, and busted my ass; for 3 years I kept at it. If you keep at it, keep your humble beginnings close to you, and not only have a fire about music in you but allow others to work off your passion and energy from it, there is no doubt you will succeed.Send me your track
