Body Bag was formed in 1989 by Jimmy Littlefield, Mike Dexter and Travis Dahmen... After adding Eric on guitar and CJ on bass, they set out to destroy the local Portland scene.. A scene of glamrock and really horrible metal, Body Bag graced the town and other citys with their brutal, sickening grinding assault!!
..After being in numerous magazines and playing millions of shows they were offered a few label choices, but none seemed to impress them... So they stuck to worldwide distro from Relapse, Osmos and Wild Rags, etc. And became an underground sensation...
They have shared the stage with the likes of Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Kreator, Dismember, Vader, Phobia, Poison Idea, Immortal Fate, Autopsy, Six Feet Under, Cathedral, Fear Factory, Everclear (Yes Everclear) And numerous others...Body Bag has been through many line up changes but founder Jimmy Littlefield still keeps it going along with Pete Boyd on vocals, who came on board in 1994. They still carry on and are continually writing tunes like nobodys business.. Dino Cazares (Ex-Fear Factory current Brujeria, Asesino Guitar player and long time friend) has been doing live shows with them... Body Bag never really got the credit they deserved because they stayed so far underground...
They still do shows and will be putting out some new material in 2007 with original bass player CJ Mikiten and Pete Boyd handling Vocals and Guitar. They will most likely have guest guitar tracks performed by Dino as well...Body Bag stays Brutal and Punishing with their sickening style of grinding death and always will support the scene that they helped so much to become what it is today...
