Our Perception Of Heavy Differs From Yours!

About Me

contact Chuck Hudson at [email protected] for e-mail and yahoo messenger.
Damage OverDose (D.O.D.), an all Native American Brutal Metal band made up of brothers, Chuck Hudson (vocals and guitar) and DW Hudson (Drums), DOD Welcomes Brian Poland, formerly Desolation.(2nd guitar)and Chris Martin(bass)A live set is simply the only way to witness how brutal and heavy this band really is.
D.O.D. is an independent band that doesn't rely, answer, nor conform to a record label. Instead their support comes form the main sources; Family, Friends, and Fans. They know this and their work and music is all for these ttwo. They continue to look for more contacts with other independent bands like themselves. They are always willing to give other bands a hand when they are asked. This is not unusual with most independent bands.
The moniker of Damage OverDose is self-explanatory and straight to the point. D.O.D. is strongly influenced by many bands throughout metal history, from old school to new school (not to be confused with nu-metal at all). The music can be described as Aggressive, Brutal, Groove Metal. The lyrics are a mirror for the world at that time.
Formed in late 97', D.O.D. has been playing live since May of 98', playing with local bands around Oregon (Desolation, Gudgen, Truculence, Bunk Dope,Among the Decayed, Devour, Tallboy Shotgun, Harm Family, Bastard Saints, Extir Patients, Across the Sun, Reaching For Zero, Twist Of Fate, Hyperthermia, and End Theory -From Washington-) as well as bands from Montana (War Cry, Mephistapheles), Arizona (Dying Tribe, Ethnic De Generation, System Addict Shock, Horny Toads, Infusion, Brimstone, Excorciste), Nevada (Hemlock), and California (40 Grit, Sons Of Chaos).
So in the near future D.O.D. would like the opportunity to play everywhere and anywhere to bring their style of aggressive heaviness to any stage or place.
2005 through 2007 has seen many changes for Chuck and his crew. in spring 2006 they were the opener for Obituary ( a huge influence for Chuck)Deeds of Flesh, Severed Savior, and friends Godless. Turning right around the next day and playing the 2006 Northwest Deathfest in Seattle Wa. playing with friends Ceremonial Castings and Desolation. Then playing the madras metalfest put on by Desolation @ The Metal Shop (RIP)
DOD had some changes at this time. Levi left DOD and the boys were losing hope of ever having a bass player.
Even though they had stong agressive new material, it seemed like DOD was fading.
Then Brian Poland and Chris Martin joined up, bringing their talent, input, and enthusiasm, that the band needed!
Since then, DOD has been bouncing all over Oregon with songs from their upcomming cd "In Killing Form", averaging a show or two a month. Killing crowds with bands like Reeker, Bloodlust, Necryptic, Ceremonial Castings, Vulgarizer, Rutah...and LONG time brothers War Cry.
Amed with heavier more intense songs than ever DOD has come back as a force that detroys past performances!!
In killing form is done, soon to be released.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members:

Charles Hudson - Vocals/Guitar The youngest of the group, grew up with rap and hip-hop all around him. This type of music didn't really express what he was feeling. Then came heavy metal. This gave him the much needed release that can only come from the metal sound. With several like-minded people, including his brother, they formed a band named DOD. In this band he was able to express the feelings and the ideas that he needed to get out. Though the line-up changed, some of those leaving going on to form other bands, Chuck never lost sight of the original drive of the band. His Lyrics, are direct and reflect social decay, and a strong sense of pride for their native people.

DW Hudson - Drums Brother to Chuck and an original member, liked hitting things since childhood. It only seemed natural for him to end up beating the hell out of the drums. Though one of the driving factors in the band he has taken the roll of the "easy going guy". He let's the other members play leader even though he is the "oldest of the band". But get him behind a drum kit and the aggression begins to pour out of him.

Brain Poland - 2nd Guitar Brian is a long term friend of the band and the artist for the Covers of DOD's New Year War, and Desolation's Crucifucked. Brian, although quiet; is a dedicated musician with a great sense of humor. Always ready for a show, practice and/or has the ability to give input that matches DOD's unique style.

Chris Martin - Bass Guitar Hails Grand Rhonde Oregon, originally a guitar player for many years, has taken up bass and makes the 2.5 hour drive over for band practice every week. So far has picked up very quickly and seems the perfect final addition to the band.

Influences: Old Metallica, Slayer, Obituary, Vader, Testament, Jungle Rot, etc. you get the picture, or you fucking better.
Sounds Like: Dying Tribe, Crowbar, Obituary, and w/ the vocal influences of Vader, Testament, and Disinter.
Record Label: Independent
Type of Label: None

Damage OverDose is a Native American Brutal Metal band in my opinion at it's finest. They reside in Oregon. The band is made up of brothers and has only 3 members. They do not conform to record labels...
