Homero ChavezA third generation musician with a family legacy of piano, bass, trumpet, and percussion players, he opts to take the drums and percussion. He is an Independent Drummer, Percussionist, Instrument designer, Clinician and Producer, currently serving as the VP of Outreach for the International Percussive Arts Society in the State of California.Homero is currently promoting his signature cajon “Homero Chavez Cajon†by Kotz touring throughout the USA, Mexico and Canada. He has written an article on this instrument published by Percussive Notes, also has a pod cast in I-tunes and at PAS.ORG. His latest CD "El Canto De La Gente" has been received well by audiences throughout the USA and Mexico.As a community member of Pomona CA. Homero is an active contributor within the Youth movement. He promotes percussion activity through programs like “Stomp Kids†a program design by him to help after school activities for the local youth. He also, has a yearly Drums and Percussion Summer Camp at Cal-Poly Pomona Downtown Center for disadvantage kids and low income families. He produces the annual DOP for the CA Chapter in CA also at the Cal-Poly PDC.He appears on drums and or percussion in the following productions: "El Cajon" Pod cast 007 PAS and Pod cast 011 "El Cajon Clinic" Pod cast PASIC 06, NBC production "Giatanas" aired on Telemundo, Son Mestizo CD, Kelly Z "Live at the Troubadour" CD, Denise Donatelli Jazz CD and "El Canto De La Gente" CD, radio and Internet spots for Allegiance Telecom, and with the Mexican icon Ricardo Montalban radio spot.He's traveled nationally to perform at Major Music, and Percussion Festivals: Santa Barbara International Percussion Festival, LA County Fair, Cal Poly Pomona DOP, Rainbow Music Festival, El Rey Theater, Ford Theater, KOSA International, NAMM, LAMA DOP, PASIC Austin TX.
