TERRORSPAWN was unleashed back in November 2003 in Barcelona by Bastard as a studio solo side-project after he left THE BLEEDING SUN, his band for the last 3 and a half years. With the help of Psychomoon (THE BLEEDING SUN's first singer) and drummer Vic, who helped with the drum programming, TERRORSPAWN did the first steps. "Channeling the Quintessence of Death", the first demo of the band, was composed, arranged and recorded between 2003 and 2005 by Bastard at his living room using some cheap sound gear (Mac G3 notebook, Digidesign MBox, Line 6 POD and a couple of Pluggins basically) and a drum machine. Vocals were recorded at Las Sombras Studios in March 2005 with EMBELLISH' guitar player Miguel engineering the whole thing. In February 2005, Bastard got some extra cash and built his “Home Studio” called Moontower Studios.
"Channeling the Quintessence of Death" is not available. It was released only as a promo-Cd in order to put the band's monicker into the Underground Scene sending some copies to magazines, webzines, fanzines, radios and labels allover Europe. We also have a myspace site www.myspace.com/terrorspawn.com In March 2006, TERRORSPAWN got in contact with a french label, Soundspheric Records, who had interest in the band's demo (We talked about a re-release as a Split Cd with another band, in Cd and Vinyl format).
The "new" album had to be released through Sound Spheric Records, but the guy who used to run that french label, died in a car accident a few months ago, his name was Etienne and he was a cool Metalhead, you will be missed man! The other guy in the label changed the name of the company to Aural Offerings and it seems he is still interested in us!
June 2006: we completed our line-up with guitar player Marc from THE LARSSON PROJECT, he is also a producer and a 6-strings-metalfreak!. Also we included 2 TERRORSPAWN's old friends; Dani, bass player from ROMANTHICA, and Lord Bud, who use to play drums in the Gothic Metal successful act EMBELLISH (And ROMANTHICA as well).
Together, TERRORSPAWN started rehearsing in June in order to do its first perfomance at the Martohell Oktober Fest, Scheduled for 7th October with such cool bands like the cult act HOLY MOSES from Germany and the Old School Thrashing Maniacs REDIMONI. Finally, we had to cancel our show because we were not ready to play live yet. At the same time, we were offered to play as a support band of CANNIBAL CORPSE or CATAMENIA, but we had to denied it because our lack of rehearsing...
At the end of 2006 we recorded a cool cover version of Nirvana's "Territorial Pissings". Forget the band... Hail the song!!!! We did it for a tribute album which is gonna be released some day. Anyway, we transform the song in a NAPALM DEATH / TERRORIZER kind of song, NIRVANA meets NAPALM DEATH meets TERRORSPAWN, Uh!!!. You can find it in our "music" page (Some pics from that session in the "gallery" page!).
Due to some problems within the band and our personal side projects (ENYGMAH & GRAVEYARD), TERRORSPAWN got on hold for a few months. Lord Bud and Dani left the band so we asked Carles (ex-VIDRES A LA SANG) to join and he agree (We have uploaded some pics from our very first rehearsal). Now we’re rehearsing the new and the old stuff in order to record the first album and prepare some shows for next year. I guess 2008 will be our year, who knows!!!!! November 2007
TERRORSPAWN surge en Noviembre del 2003 en Barcelona de la mano de Bastard como un proyecto de estudio en solitario tras abandonar THE BLEEDING SUN, banda en la que militó durante los últimos 3 años y medio. Con la ayuda de Psychomoon (primer cantante de THE BLEEDING SUN) y el batería Vic, TERRORSPAWN da sus primeros pasos. "Channeling the Quintessence of Death", la primera demo de la banda, fue compuesta y grabada entre el 2003 y el 2005 por Bastard en su habitación utilizando un equipo relativamente modesto compuesto por una caja de ritmos, un portátil Mac G3, una MBox de Digidesign, el POD de Line 6 y un puñado de Pluggins). Las voces fueron grabadas en los estudios Las Sombras en marzo del 2005 propiedad del guitarrista de EMBELLISH Miguel. En Febrero del 2005, Bastard invierte en nuevos y mejores equipos y monta un “estudio casero” de nombre Moontower Studios.
"Channeling the Quintessence of Death" no está a la venta. Ha sido editado como una promo Cd con la única intención de situar el nombre de TERRORSPAWN en la escena Underground esparciendo 200 copias a webzines, radios, magazines, fanzines, sellos y demás dentro de Europa. Si quieres escuchar como suena solo tienes que dirigirte a www.terrorspawn.com donde podrás encontrar algunos mp3. También cabe la posibilidad de que encuentres la demo por Internet, ¡Nos importa una mierda la piratería!, TERRORSPAWN es creatividad, no negocio. Hemos creado también un perfil en myspace www.myspace.com/terrorspawn , échale un vistazo!. En Marzo del 2006, TERRORSPAWN entra en contacto con el sello francés Soundspheric Records quienes muestran pleno interés en editar el próximo disco del grupo así como reeditar su demo, tanto en Cd como en Vinilo, en un Split junto a otra banda. El "nuevo" disco debía salir con el sello francés Sound Spheric Records, pero el tipo que lo llevaba, Etienne, falleció hace unos meses en un accidente de tráfico, toda una lástima pues era un buen tío y un muy buen metalhead. Su compañero de sello creó Aural Offerings y deduzco que todavía sigue interesado en nosotros.
En Junio del 2006, TERRORSPAWN completa su formación con el guitarrista y freak absoluto de las 6 cuerdas Marc, el bajista Dani (también en ROMANTHICA) y el batería Lord Bud (conocido sobretodo por ser miembro de los gótico metaleros EMBELLISH y también de ROMANTHICA).
Con el line-up ya estable, TERRORSPAWN encuentran local de ensayo y empiezan a preparar los temas para debutar en el festival Martohell Oktober Fest, previsto para el 7 de Octubre del 2006, donde compartirían cartel con la legendaria banda de culto alemana HOLY MOSES y los Thrashers añejos de REDIMONI. Finalmente tuvimos que anular nuestra actuación en el festival debido a que todavía no estábamos preparados para tocar en directo. Se nos ofrecieron bastantes bolos como telonear a CANNIBAL CORPSE o CATAMENIA, pero tuvimos que decir que no por el mismo motivo.
A finales del 2006, grabamos una versión del "Territorial Pissings" de NIRVANA... Olvida la banda... ¡Alaba la canción! La grabamos para un disco tributo a NIRVANA que suponemos algún día saldrá. Transformamos el tema y quedó bastante chulo, algo así como una mezcla imposible entre NIRVANA, NAPALM DEATH y TERRORSPAWN!. Debido a varios problemas personales y nuestros proyectos paralelos (ENYGMAH & GRAVEYARD), TERRORSPAWN estuvo parado varios meses. Lord Bud y Dani abandonaron la nave así que contactamos con un viejo amigo, Carles (ex-VIDRES A LA SANG) y aceptó unirse al grupo (Hemos colgado algunas fotos de nuestro primer ensayo juntos). Ahora mismo estamos ensayando el material de cara a grabar nuestro primer disco y preparar algunos shows para el próximo año. Esperamos que el 2008 sea nuestro año, ¡Quién sabe!. Noviembre 2007
