Existing since 1989 CONTRADICTION worked hard to step ahead. Releasing the second demo tape Old Demon finally put even the booking agencies` focus of attention on them for the first time. Shortly afterwards they started recording sessions for their first full length album Rules Of Peace (1993), of which approx. 1.200 copies could be sold, not least according to impressive criticism in media such as metal magazines and fanzines. Harvest of all that years of hard work were support-slots for famous bands such as ICED EARTH, MASSACRA, TANKARD, FARMER BOYS etc..., that lead CONTRADICTION to the reputation of being an ass-kicking live-band.
Release of the second CD All we hate! (Midan Records/Rough Trade) was a big advance in the bands` musical progress but was even more designed to turn out as a general setback. Overwhelmingly reviews throughout international music-press could not prevent the band from becoming a victim of the industry. Marketing and promotion did not take place in the line of the record contract, which was a bad deal for the musicians that had been recording on the album for 3 months. Despite that and thankful to many underground gigs that have been played, the sellings of All We Hate! finally worked out quite well and 2.500 copies could be sold via Rough Trade-distribution. But no band member dares to imagine what else could have been achieved.
After experiencing a deep nothing - with only a couple of shows played - the band was kind of reborn in early 2003: they started to write new songs, book as many shows as possible and hit the road for nearly 70 shows within two years. Meanwhile they worked hard on their new album THE VOICE OF HATRED, which was released on May 2nd, 2005 by Armageddon Music/Soulfood. This finally marked the long-deserved comeback of the four guys. Right after the CD-release they hit the road supporting legendary OVERKILL on their european tour.
After a lot shows, e.g. the mighty W:O:A Festival in 2005, Contradiction started in the beginning of 2006 with the recordings for the follow up for "The Voice Of Hatred". Recorded in the band's own studio, produced by Oliver Lux and mixed by Joachim Kopka , THE WARCHITECT is an outstanding piece of german THRASH METAL.
