Mortal Remains (new song online)

About Me

Formed in early 1999, the band had to go through the usual (?) membership quarrels before the core line-up was established by September 2001. It consists of:
Kai Fischer aka Lappen (drums), ex- Contraction, ex- Deadly Sin, ex- miscellaneous, Wuppertal
Stephan WeÃŸling (bass, backing-vocals), ex- Deadly Sin, Wuppertal
Matthias Meier (guitars, vocals), ex- X-Ray-5, Remscheid.
Bernard Plaum (guitars), ex- X-Ray-5, Remscheid,
joined the band in April 2003 to complete the line-up as a second guitarist.
DjÃ¤nz, the bands former vocalist, left Mortal Remains shortly after Matthias had joined them in September 2001. With DjÃ¤nz occupied with job and family duties, Matthias found himself compelled to take over guitars and vocals alike. In late 2003 DjÃ¤nz returned to the Band,and in September 2004
Markus Wichmann (guitars), ex-Suffocated Art,Wuppertal replaced Bernard on Rhythm Guitar.
Mortal Remains was scheduled to record a follow-up to their 2003 Album "Full Speed Ahead" in Summer/Atumn 2005. Songs and Lyrics were mostly done,when DjÃ¤nz left the band again in July 2005.
Matthes took over the microphon once again,but the band kept on looking for a new vocalist. In December
Corinna Becker(vocals),Lindisfarne,Solingen
joined in,to become the new voice.
Shortly after her debut,the reocrdings for the "...still Thrashing"-Demo were started,and it was finally released in March 2006.
In November 2006 Matthes called it a quits,and the band is currently recording the next CD (entitled "Next Level,scheduled spring '07). Matthes will still take care of most of the lead guitars on this record,and play one final farewell show with us,when the record is released.
Besides working on "Next Level" the remaining quartet is checking out new guitarists to take Matthes spot.
